  1. Hey! i'm in Oshawa, when I graduated, I looked in the yellow pages and foudn every nursing home listed and brought in a resume personally to the Director of Care. A lot of people say it's hard to get into a hospital as a new grad (around here anyway, not sure about TO). Try that.. and keep an eye out in the paper, sometimes there are ads for clinics and stuff like that!
  2. sorry, by "gone through", I meant if my registration hasn't been approved by July 1, will it transfer over to the national board and get approved through them? Or be disregarded? Should I apply now through Queensland or wait and apply through the national board?
  3. Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this has been posted, I tried to find something on this topic but only found it for people who are currently registered in Australia. I am looking to apply for registration in Queensland, but I'm not sure if I should start the process now. Does anyone know what would happen to my application if it hasn't gone through as of 1 July 2010? If I did get registered through Queensland now, when the national board took place, my registration would transfer over to national, right? Which would mean that I could leave Queensland for the latter part of my trip? If anyone has any answers please get back to me, not sure what to do exactly!
  4. hi, i'm a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario.. and I emailed someone from the nurse on holidays website, and he told me that there isn't an exact match to RPN/LPN in Aus, but if you currently have medication competency then you could be an endorced enrolled nurse? EEN is the term there.. We did medication as part of our program at school so he said it would be fine, and we'd be more employable than EN's, which are enrolled nurses who don't give out medication. i could be off a little bit, but that's what I understood from the email :)
