Hey everyone, Congratulations in starting and enduring your first semester of nursing school!!! I'm new to this thread and am contemplating applying to FSU's ABSN program even though it (seems) relatively new. Please inform us, newbies, about the reality of the program -- administration's leadership and organization, professors, and any other striking things that stick out to you. As well, could please let us know what your gpas were OR the average gpa of your entering class? I have previous BA from UF and my gpa is classicaly uncompetitive; yet my science prerek gpa is high. Your feedback is already appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi all, Can you all tell me what kind of gpas you had when you applied? I'm interested in applying for Summer 2011 and really would like to gauge what scores are the ones they're accepting. I didn't have a competitive UF gpa; but my prerequisite gpa is high. Also, how did you all feel about the TEAS test: easy, hard, moderate? Did you need to study? Buy review guide? Would love your feedback!!!

@ Pickledcookie, Thanks for your input. Good to hear that the exam wasn't stressful at all. And yea, I did post about the accelerated program at MDCC. My fam is in the process of moving; albeit, they don't know when. Nevertheless, my strategy was to use the Tri-rail to get to MDCC, if admitted. Again thanks for the reply! 'Preciate it!

@Pomakkya, Wow! Denied with a 3.8 gpa?! That's crazy. Looks like I'm hoping for a miracle. Was your gpa cumulative or just natural sciences? (i.e. did the gpa you applied with before include your UF gpa? or was it only your prerequisites needed for admission to mdcc? ) To everyone else, What other schools have you applied to or will apply to? So far, in my research there are some pretty awesome out-of-state schools e.g. Jefferson University [ABSN + MSN in 2 years], Oklahoma City [guaranteed acceptance in ABSN with all prereks completed], Lady of the Lake College [10 mth ASN program], and others. I am also contemplating applying to Palm Beach State college for their full-time generic nursing program. Would love to hear from you all your other school options and back up plans. Later!

Hey all, I'm new to this thread, and like most of you, am thinking about applying to PBCC's fall nursing program. I unexpectedly did well on the NLN and just finished all my prereqs. What I have left to do is the procalc test for the program. Questions: Does anyone have any recommendations about how to prepare for the Pro-calc test? What's it like? How many times did you have to take it? Does anyone know what the previous admission-entry cut-off points were(was) ? I hold a previous bachelors degree; Is there anyone else choosing PBCC with a previous BS/BA; in lieu of going to an accelerated BSN program? Fill me in on your decision I'd really appreciate it!!! To our success!!! P.S. I have no health experience so my points allocate to 28.89. I have no idea how I should feel about that. Every post I look at for other schools show that nursing schools admit "perfect" gpas and scores. So any insight would help!

Hey everyone, First time posting at Allnurses.com. I, as well, am applying to MDC for their Accelerated program. I have a previous degree from UF, but cum gpa from there is whack. I finished all my prerequisites this past Spring. My natural sciences gpa is 3.75, so I'm hoping that's good enough to get in this fall. I've talked to the Dean's of the generic program and the AO option who both were very pleasant (especially Violeta). The department told me they should be notifying students mid-June regarding acceptance/denial. In the meantime, my desire is to stay positive, hopeful, and make wise decisions towards a nursing career. Questions: Has anyone heard anything for this fall yet? Are there any other people applying for the accelerated program While I'm waiting, I am researching other Florida schools and out-of-state schools as well. I applied to FAU and Barry and was denied by both. Looking forward to hearing from others! God Bless!
