I have heard very good things about HC, that the nurse manager treats staff right. I am an ED nurse as well but I cannot fill the hours they have available (12p-12a or 3p-3a). Good luck, I do suggest you go for it!

I work in Baltimore county as an RN, but I am moving to Montgomery County, will be living in Montgomery Village. I typically work night shift.The travel from Mv To Baltimore is atrocious, especially for night shift. 1 hr 40 minutes, I've experienced, on a weekday. I am being realistic and realizing I wont be able to keep the travel up forever and I have some interviews in other hospitals near MV. My question is for MD/DC locals; Google says the travel time b/t MV and Frederick Memorial Hospital is 30 minutes, is this true even in the evening? What do you think of FMH? I am looking for an ED position. GWUH wrote me asking me to call them but they havent responded to any of my calls, which I'm a little annoyed about but I'm going to blame four day weekends on that. Shady grove doesnt have any ED jobs available. Washington Adventist I already had the interview with. Anyone have other suggestions? Is FMH a much better drive than Baltimore county? so, how did it go for those of you on here that were thinking about joining the USAF? I was interested, too; I've been working in an ER since February (I am a new RN), thought about doing the same for USAF, but then found out they required a BSN so that stalled me out. I am sad

I disagree vehemently with the usage of comparing human beings to "beloved pets". We put pets down because they are PETS. Humans are not to be put down. Obviously this woman's time was nearing an end and a DNR was appropriate, but comparing DNRS to euthanasia is dangerous. I know that had my pet had the same injuries my husband received from a drunk driver, my pet would be put down. THANK GOD my husband was not. I know there are some ignorant people who think he'd be better off dead than deal with a spinal cord injury, including people in the medical field. He disagrees! Luckily euthanasia is still illegal... for now. Don't let stories like this cloud your judgement about euthanasia (which is what happens to PETS, not humans)
