  1. I live in Colorado and am in the same boat, graduated May of 2009, life got a little crazy and I have put off the NCLEX until now. Each state's regulatory agency has a different set of rules. If you haven't gotten your paperwork in, do it now!! For Colorado the rules state that we have a maximum of 3 attempts to take the NCLEX within three years from the first date you took the NCLEX in any state, territory, or foreign country. It then goes on to say that if those attempts are unsuccessful than you have to complete the didactic portion of an approved refreasher course within one year of the last unsuccessful attempt of the NCLEX. With successful completion of that than you are granted to take the NCLEX one last time within a year from the last unsuccessful NCLEX examination. I finally signed up for the NCLEX and am taking it on April 30. I was on the deans list at school but I'm really scared to take this test now. A year doesn't seem like a long time but in studying for the NCLEX I've lost a lot of information that I used to now. So, when you do decide to take the test, give yourself plenty of time to study. Good Luck and try not to put the test off for too much longer...we did go to school for a reason, right?? Also, nice to know that someone else is in the same boat as me...thought I was the only slacker out there.
