  1. Wow, thanks for the replies. @ Meriwhen- this link was incredibly helpful! I did not need to disclose this information to the BRN after all. @ Lady vengeance1- I would like to look more into this. Where can I find this information and what state are you pertaining to? I plan on calling the BRN Monday. Hopefully I'll get some information.
  2. Hi everyone,I hope someone here can help shed some light. I took my nclex over 2 weeks ago and have not seen my name posted on the BRN yet. My friend took hers a week after I did and a license number posted within 2 days on the Ca BRN. I am worrying why I haven't seen anything yet. According the the PVT trick I got the "good pop up." My concern is that I did not think to report a musadventure of a shop lifting incident I had from the age of 12. Does the BRN allow you an ATT to sit for the NCLEX if your application have red flags ( due to things unreported properly)??? Would my application be considered fraudulent? If so, what is the next step? Thank you to anyone who can help
  3. Hey guys, I was in the same situation with AUHS. I was completely accepted, paid $500 to reserve my seat and then decided, right before the orientation, it was not the school for me. This school felt a bit shady for me. The faculty was great and really nice, but just the whole process of getting in was strange and now I know why (this is just my opinion from personal experience). I applied for Spring 2010 to start on Mar.29. The problem and reason why I chose to resign my seat was the TOTAL cost of the school. I was told my tuition would be around 70k (because I already had a BS degree and a had some of the required courses done) I was fine with this, I was willing to pay more in order to start school faster. My problem with this place was that the school does not give students much assistance or options for student loans and everything seem to be done last minute so that you are locked in. I wish I knew about what they offered for student loans before hand, but instead I was given the information 1 week before classes start. Since I already hold a degree, I was not qualified for financial aid at AUHS and planned on using loans. If you get financial aid, maybe it's not as bad, but for those who need loans it is scary. I was only given around 8k for Stafford loans and the rest was to be from private loans. I was only given 4 options for this and would have had to go with Sallie Mae, which was the easiest to qualify for. The APR was 10%! This seem very ridiculous when you use the student loan calculator and see how much you are actually paying for your education after interest is added. It was a hard decision to make about resigning, but in my heart, I did not want to go to AUHS that much to be in debt for years to come. There are so many other options for nursing out there for me and I could not see myself not being able to save money and working just to pay a huge debt after graduation. My story actually has a happy ending. Luckily I applied at other schools and found out I was accepted to Long Beach City College. I'll be starting in the Fall! Stay away from AHUS unless you are desperate, have no other options and don't mind putting your dreams on hold while you work just to get out of debt.. For those who just started AUHS on March 29th, good luck.
