  1. I would move to a neighboring town like Mt.vernon or Yonkers.. Bronxville is very expensive and of course Manhattan is very expensive. But you still have time.. look on craigslist if you can.
  2. CONCORDIA IS FULLY ACCREDITED!!! YAYYYYY!!!! :)
  3. ok so I called CCNE also.. I spoke with Amanda Brownbridge. She repeated what you said.. However, she said the school will know for sure right away.. as in this week. But like you said, won't be made public until next month.. She assured me that the school knows instantly.. so I feel much better now..
  4. here is the email thread: will you know by the may 1st deadline if concordia will receive accreditation? i am eager to send in my deposit. thanks for your time i will know on april 20th!!! i'm very excited! dr. a. susan apold, phd, rn, anp-bc dean, division of nursing concordia college 171 white plains rd bronxville, ny 10708
  5. you beat me to it..I was gonna call them myself.. hmmm.. I got the april 20th date from Dean Susan Apold directly.. Here is her # if you want to call her.. this is a bit distressing.. 914-337-9300 extension 2256 Let me know if you hear anything else.. thanks!!!!!
  6. I'm still waiting. I'm going to call the school this afternoon and ask about their accreditation.. and also pay my deposit!!!!
  7. Living anywhere in Manhattan is going to be very expensive.. You might catch a break if you have a room mate or 2.. lol.. Brooklyn is cool. and depending where in Brooklyn you will be pretty close to the city (Manhattan). Of course it would make your life easier if you lived in the city.. But you should determine what's more important to you.. Paying high rent and being close to school and your clinical sites OR having a little bit of a commute and pay half the money on rent..
  8. ahh yes Texas... If you can afford it I would definitely stay on campus.. I'm from NY that's why I would commute.. I live in the bronx. not far.. not close.. I would have to wake up at about 5 am. to get to 7 am clinicals! If you need any help looking for an apt if you decided not to stay on campus let me know.. or any other questions regarding New York let.. I'm sure i can help..
  9. ok my pre-req GPA is a 3.8 as well.. Hopefully i'll hear from NYU soon. Do you live in the NYU area? have you decided on housing.. If i go to NYU i would commute. i'm worried about the 7 am clinicals and 8:00 am classes though!!! lol..
  10. hmmmm.. you're right.. they are receiving their accreditation tomorrow actually.. However, my concern with Concordia now is will i be able to find a job right away.. and how will my contacts be.. From reading these threads its seems as though, as you said NYU is definitely well established. If you don't' mind me asking what are your grades like?
  11. she was EXTREMELY confident!!! I could see her smiling through email.. lol.. that kinda got me excited too..
  12. For all those waiting on Concordia's accreditation status, I emailed the Dean of Nursing. She said she will know by April 20th.. hope this helps
  13. @Genu9ine I think i remember you from the Concordia thread. I got accepted as well. Still waiting to hear from NYU. So are you definitely picking NYU over Concordia???
  14. @ChristinaG123 Congrats on your acceptance!! What are your grades like? I have a 3.8 in my pre-reqs but my overall GPA from undergrad isn't nearly as high so i'm worried.. thanks for your help! :-)
  15. Thanks for the insight. Both Concordia and NYU share my #1 spot for nursing schools. I have already been accepted into Concordia but I'm still waiting on NYU. I haven't heard from them so I will probably send in my deposit for Concorida just in case.. However, I'm extremely worried about their accreditation!!!!! I know you sound pretty confident @annod81 but i'm still kinda worried. Please let me know if you have any updates.. Clinicals - where are your clinicals this semester? I live in the bronx so i was a little worried about getting lost and/or being on time. What is your daily school schedule usually like? 8:00-4:00pm?
