  1. hi all, i'm looking to take a couple nursing prerequisite classes online such as my nutrition and sociology (no lab classes). does anyone know of any tech schools (preferably cheap ones) that offer quarter semesters (shorten semesters)??? and yes, they exist because they are faster pace. i of course would be taking these online so a school anywhere in the united states should work just fine. example of what i mean by quarter semesters jan-march, april-june, july-sept, oct-dec.

  10. Has anyone attended OLOL before? Does anyone know what roughly the totol cost of the Accelerated ASN program is? Also, is the program offered nights/weekends to allow working while going to school? If so, can you work fulltime? Thanks
  11. help! does anyone know of any inexpensive night/weekend or even online asn or bsn degrees in or around the state of north carolina, preferably charlotte or chapel hill? i currently hold a bachelors degree with a ton of undergrad loans and am i'm willing to move almost anywhere to save taking out more money for nursing school. and yes, i have to work while going to school which is why i cannot do an accelerated 2nd degree bsn program... thanks
  12. help! does anyone know of any inexpensive night/weekend or even online asn or bsn degrees in or around the state of pennsylvania, perferably around philadelphia? i currently hold a bachelors degree with a ton of undergrad loans and am i'm willing to move almost anywhere to save taking out more money for nursing school. and yes, i have to work while going to school which is why i cannot do an accelerated 2nd degree bsn program... thanks

  14. i agree with the above post. i too am in a similar situation as you. i hold a non-nursing bachelor's degree and am married and expecting my first child. therefore, accelerated 2nd degree bsn programs are all out for me as well. i debated on asn or bsn for a while. ultimately, i've decided to do a special 12 month night & weekend asn program. this will allow me to work under my current degree (engineering) while going to school on the nights and weekends to obtain my rn status. after i’ve completed the 12 month program i’ll switch career paths from an engineer to an rn and work fulltime for a hospital (preferably in icu). while working fulltime for a hospital i’ll take a fully accredited online rn-bsn bridge program and hope i can get my employer to help fund the program. ultimately, i plan on becoming a crna. to be accepted into a crna program you must hold a bsn degree and have a minimum of 1 year of icu experience. within 2 to 3 years of the time i start i plan on obtaining my asn/rn degree, my bsn degree and have 1 year of icu clinical experience. this path allows me to work fulltime and support my family while still going to school :-) as paeonia pointed out, i too am a fan of the asn route then bsn/msn bridge option. the sky is the limit! good luck to you! by the way, i'm 28 years old. time is on your side my friend...
  15. hello, i currently have a non-nursing engineering bachelor's degree and have decided to go back to school to pursue crna (nurse anesthetist). i have luckily had the opportunity to shadow a nurse anesthetist and feel this is something that i really want to do with my life. my wife and have been married one year and we are now expecting our first child. i need to work during the day to help support my family. based off this info, does anyone know of a second degree online or night/weekend bsn programs out there for people like me who have a non nursing bachelor's degree? i'm trying hard to figure out what's the fastest and cheapest option for me to obtain my bsn while still attempting to bring home income. keep in mind i'll also need 1 year min icu experience prior to applying to crna school. here is the fastest option i've come up with thus far that still allows me to work however, it isn't cheap... enroll in a 1 year night/weekend associate degree in nursing program. then, get a job working in icu as an rn while simultaneously doing an online rn to bsn bridge program. this will also give me my 1 year min icu experience while allowing me to go to school and bring home income. i figure it would take approx. 3 years to complete before i would be able to apply for crna school. the problem is the total cost could be over $60k for the adn & bsn degree's. do you guys know of any 2nd degree online/night/weekend bsn programs? also, what do you guys think about my 1 year adn degree then online bsn? thanks for any and all advice!
