  1. No I haven't - I'm still weighing my options. How do you like it?
  2. I am a new RN, 52 years old and have a BS in Accountancy. Rather than go for a BSN, I'm considering an MSN. I feel a little old (and underqualified) to become a practitioner, so rather than an NP, I am considering an MSN. I just want to increase my options - I think I want to continue to do direct patient care. I'd like to do it as quickly as possible, and am considering a CNL from Sacred Heart University. Has anyone gone there? Does anyone have any advice on the best course of action to take? Betsy
  3. Britt, I am right there with you! I thought letters would be coming around March 15, so I have been eagerly going to the mailbox for two weeks. Good luck to you too! Betsy
  4. What?!? Where does it say this? I don't remember ever seeing anything about that! If so, I am not going to be able to attend. I am so disappointed.
  5. OMG! Did you all know that this is a night course? I had no idea! I didn't go to any information sessions because I had gone to others before. I don't know what I"m going to do!
  6. I got my letter yesterday! I got accepted as well. See you in January!
  7. NO! I Have been checking my mail with anticipation for the last few days. Hoping to find out soon! Have you heard?
  8. I have also applied. Good luck!
  9. ELFMwife, do you get a break between semesters?
  10. So sorry you didn't get in. Hopefully they'll use up that wait list!
  11. I wonder if they didn't let me get the transcript in because it was a prerequisite, but it's not like it was one of the science courses. It was English Comp that I took 29 years ago, and it WAS included as a transfer on the transcript from the college where I graduated. After I got my letter of denial, I wrote an appeal and I immediately requested the transcript, and they got it before March 30. I think I am going to have to go talk to them again. This doesn't seem like equitable treatment.
  12. Chass63, I am very surprised that they asked you for the missing transcript. Had you not previously requested it? Because they keep telling me that there are other people in my situation and they have to treat everyone the same...... I am very curious to hear more! If you had requested it and it just hadn't arrived, I can understand. But if you hadn't ever requested it, I may have an argument to make to them!
  13. Best of luck to you getting into Three Rivers.
  14. Thank you for your reply, JBMommy. Are you currently in the CC program? If so, what is your schedule like, or are you waiting to hear? I had originally wanted to do the CC program because I thought it would be the softer, gentler way, but I'm not so sure if it is that much less work than the UConn program (per week, I mean - not that I don't want to do the work, I'm just thinking schedule-wise.)
  15. I was wondering if I could get feedback from people who have finished or are in either the UCONN Mbein program or in one of the associates programs at the community colleges. I am trying to figure out a few things: 1) Would the UCONN program be a lot more demanding than the associates degree program? 2) What is a typical week like as far as class time, clinicals and studying? 2) Is there any advantage to the UCONN program, other than it being a stepping stone to a masters? I had applied to the Associates program but was denied because of the lack of a transcript, and rather than waiting a whole year to apply again, I am considering the Mbein program. However, I am concerned with just how demanding the program may be. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Betsy
  16. I have talked with the admissions director twice and she told me that there is nothing she can do. I hadn't requested the transcript prior to February 1, because I wasn't aware I needed it. I did send it to them after I found out it was necessary, but since it wasn't in by Feb 1, I'm out of luck! Thanks for all your well wishes, I'll figure something out! Either I'll wait another year, or try to get into the Mbein program.
  17. I also went to an information session and don't remember this being brought up. I sure wish I had thought to bring it up! I am now either going to have to wait another year, or try to get into the UConn Mbein program, which seems as if it will be VERY intense.
  18. I applied to NVCC and was given a letter on March 15 that my application was denied because I hadn't included a transcript from the college where I took English Comp (29 years ago!). I had taken English Comp at a local school, then transferred it to the university from which I graduated. It never occurred to me to include a separate transcript. I realize that the application did say to include all colleges attended, but for some reason, I thought that since it was already on another transcript, that would suffice. I appealed the decision, and was rejected. I am so upset because I called in January and asked if it were possible to see if everything that I needed for the application had been received and was told that they didn't look at it until AFTER February 1. Of course, by then it was too late. I was just wondering if anyone else went through this situation.
