Hi all, just got my packet in the mail from K**** today! We DO have to do our own background check thing.. the packet will have information on how to do it. Do we have to bring our health clearance form completed to the orientation? I'm getting my bloodwork and physical done April 28th, and I don't know if they'll have all the results by May 7th...

Yeah, I think K**** said during our interview that we'll be paying for the drug screen (is that the LiveScan?) and those types of things later on, and she'll talk about them during the orientation. She also said that they have a LiveScan department ON campus at CSULA, so we won't have to go extra far to do it, we'll get it done right on campus. That must mean we're going to get that stuff done later. K**** did not mention Fire Cards to me, but I imagine that it is a certificate issued for completing a fire safety lesson. If we do need to get it, I think she will mention it during orientation, or you can e-mail her to double check, since I'm not really sure either.. sorry!

I haven't posted on here in a while.. lols. I didn't get an interview, and I thought I was surely rejected! And I didn't get an e-mail from SMU yet, is that good? Or did they send out the acceptances first, and now they're doing waitlist and rejected people? Last year, I was #4 on the waitlist, and I didn't get in. I'm not expecting much this year, since I didn't even get an interview. I'm pretty much expecting a rejection.

And what are titers? Why do I not know of this? I think I've already gotten all my immunizations from when I was small, and I think I have my boosters up to date also. Do we just ask the doctors/NPs to just fill out the forms with the dates they were completed? Or do I need to get these "titers" you all speak of?? Thanks.

Cool, I tried to make a fb group a couples week back, but fb wouldn't let me create a group without inviting someone! Haha, but I can't find the one you created Sunshine! And I don't think we're allowed to post links, so maybe pm everyone? Lols, or we could just keep our faces a secret until orientation!

Lol, I didn't think it was a scam until I saw his wife's e-mail. Haha.. If it's not a scam, $450 a month with all utilities paid for AND furnishing.. that's like hitting the jackpot!

Congrats Moto88! Good work!! :) Hey bbdog, I remember getting the same e-mail. But it said in the e-mail to disregard the e-mail if your to-do list doesn't have any to-do items on it. I had nothing on the list to do, so I didn't do anything. I hope that's right!! I haven't received anything from Financial Aid yet, but I hope to get something soon so I can figure out all the loans stuff. I feel like I'm in the dark about everything. Do you guys know if the apartments/dorms for the summer quarter include meal plans? Or is it just the apartment? It would be good to have some extra time to figure out where to live in case I can't find a place.

I hope the orientation isn't a business attire type of thing; I would much rather wear something more comfortable if we're going to be there for 4 hours! And will we go to dinner right after orientation, or are we going to meet up later after the orientation?

Thank you for your answers innatchka and bababaowman! You two have been very informative and helpful! I'm also in the same boat as everyone else! Worrying about finances. I did the calculations and it came out to about $7000 for each of the pre-licensure quarters. Is that about right, innatchka and bababaowman? How is the tuition paid anyway? Does it have to be one big sum each quarter, or can we pay in installments?? It's so hard to get financial business sorted out without our financial aid packets. How is everyone doing on searching for a place to live? I've sort of started looking around, but I think I'm going to be more worried about it in May, since I can't really make any offers right now as I'll be moving down in June. Or am I wrong, how long does it take to find a place anyway?? Ahhhh! Any input is greatly appreciated. :):):)

Hey Moto88, definitely don't give up hope. The Friday deadline the coordinator gave Sam and me might have only been for those who interviewed on that day, so it might not be the deadline to declare acceptance of her offer to us. I interviewed this past Saturday, and she said she was interviewing that day and the day after. Now that she's done with interviews, I'm sure she's going to be getting back to everyone pretty soon! So look out for any news from her, and good luck!! Thanks rpatil88! And are there actually apartments that are a part of the campus that we can live in, like wannabe dorms, just for the summer?? I'm also moving from SF, and I'm kind of planning living arrangements with a friend, but it might not work out. Who knows. It'll be good to meet everyone in May and see what everyone is planning! :)

Did anyone who was accepted way back to CSULA already e-mail the coordinator with a decision? What was the next step after that? Did she send you a packet with the paperwork to send in the deposit and stuff like that?

Congrats Sam! I also received a phone call from the coordinator earlier today. Has anyone else heard anything? Now to think about moving arrangements from SF to LA... how is everyone else going about this?

Hey Sam, Lols, I actually turned in ALL my CSUmentor apps in October, regardless of whether they said to do it already or not. It was just easier for me, but I think the CSUF website actually says to only fill it out and turn it in IF you get an interview. Sorry for the confusion! It's good you didn't spend the $55 yet, just in case.. but let's hope everyone has to spend it!

Hey, I didn't mean to check the nursing app online, but the university app. In the e-mail that CSUF Admissions and Records sent me, they said, "Once you receive your official acknowledgement letter, you may check your status on-line by going to www.fullerton.edu and logging in to the student portal with your campus ID and PIN.." It doesn't show the nursing app status, only the university app status.

Ohhh, no wonder they didn't ask what we wanted to major in.. lols.. I'm so lost. I guess I was confused when they mentioned studying all those areas during the PRE-licensure part.. I would think that the Clinical Leadership role is the same as the CNL, since on the CSUF website where we check our status, it says that I chose "MSN CNL" or something like that for graduate study.

Just out of curiosity, what track does everyone want to study at CSUF? I don't think they asked us on the app itself what we wanted.

Hey innatchka, thank you for your advice. Do you mean to say the essay we wrote to apply to the nursing program itself, or is there another essay that we have to write while in the nursing program to apply for the specific track we want?

Yeah, I agree with you xluescluesx. Does anyone know if interviews are done or about the approximate dates that we might hear back about decisions?
