Union County Community College QUESTIONS
Hi I ended up not applying to Union because when I went to speak to someone they mentioned something about needing an amount of points which can only be acquired by taking classes there. Once the points have been acquired then will you get an invitation. So I dont think I am going to go through that hassle if I already have two bach's and all the pre reqs. Now I am going to apply to NYU 15 month accelerated program at the end ill have a BSN instead of a ASN. But goodluck, I am sure your going to do great. Keep your chin up, its going to be tough BUT you CAN do it. I am pretty sure the tough part will be all the time needed for the program not the content it self.

St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance
OMG thanks so much. This is awful! I wouldve been stuck with a ADN and not progress to get my CNM in the long run. It wouldve been a waste of time and of course MONEY. Thanks you awesome

St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance
I called NLN and they said they were not. I recieved a call back from a representative from the Queens location and hopefully he can clear this up. I hope they are pending accreditation because this is right up my alley and they are affordable too :-)

Getting into NYU Accelerated Nursing Program
Hey guys! Can I ask a question for those who got in? Do you have an idea on what counts a bit more for deciding who gets into the program. I dont have such a great GPA for my BA (2.5) but I am a B student for my pre reqs and I have been working at Planned Parenthood of NYC for 4 yrs as a HIV counselor. I am a bit nervous that I dont have great credentials. Any advice would be great. Thanks and congrats on those who got it :-)

St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance
Chair person?! really? I can't even get past the reception guy who btw is not very nice. I left a message for the Dean of nursing and its been about a week and no reply. I guess I wont even bother with the school. Ill try NYU's accelerated program for 15 months and get a BSN.

Hey thanks! Can I ask you if your enrolled? I called the NLN and asked if they were pending and the person on the phone just said that no they are not NLN accredited. :-( btw if your enrolled can you briefly tell me how you find the classes and your experience with them? Also if getting accepted is difficult? oh and thanks for replying quickly

St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance
Hi, I have a question for the students who are currently attending St Paul's. I am really interested in the school but am worried about the NLN accreditation. I am calling the school just to simply ask the Dean of Nursing if the school is pending being accredited but I cannot get past the receptionist. He is pretty rude. I am not trying to start a dilemma however my plan is just to get my RN so I can attend Columbia's MSN program there after with using my non nursing Bach. So my question to the students is if you know if the school is going to soon be accredited? I don't understand why they cannot answer this simple question with a Yes or a No. Thanks :-)

Union County Community College QUESTIONS
Thanks so much for this post. I currently live in NYC and was doing research on this school for the diploma only program since I already have a non nursing BS. I am applying to Trinista and St Paul's however I have just heard that St Paul's is not NLN accredited and that scares me a bit.

St Pauls School of Nursing 2010 Acceptance
Hi, this is for anyone who is currently in the program. I am interested in the program but I work fulltime. I am wondering if the course load is intense? I work 7:30 - 3:00.

Low GPA
Oh I did know about the Associates in Nursing I was actually considering this but the CC's here in NYC have a waiting list of at least a year. Plus you have to be admitted into the school a semester prior and be an active student for that semester. In other words, you can't apply to the program unless you are a current student and active for at least a semester. Then will you be considered. In my case I took all the pre reqs while a Bio student as an undergrad. If I do it this way I will have to apply to each school one at a time since I can't go to all the CC's at the same time. I don't think thats a good idea LOL. :-/

Low GPA
Thanks guys! I am going to try to make an appt soon w/ admissions and ask some questions. Well some schools like Hunter ask for a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA :-/ I am not far from that and like you guys said I did very well on my pre req sciences. Plus, many of the Nurse Practioners at work said that if I explain the events that occured when my GPA dropped they might understand especially since I did great on the sciences and showed a consistancy of great grades with my major after. And yea Chem was my toughtest class, I did well in gen bio, orgo and physics but Chem :-/ Thanks for your help :) I was so discouraged but I see that I might make it after all.

Low GPA
Hi can someone help me? I recieved my BA in Psyc and decided that I want to go to nursing school. I found many programs but they require a minimum of 3.0 GPA. I graduated with a overall of 2.8 and in major a 3.8. Before Psyc I was a Bio major. Most of the courses were extremely tough. During my 1st and 2nd year I went through many unfortunate events and my GPA just dropped drastically. I was thinking that the ideal program for me is the accelerated program. I have taken all my pre reqs and I recieved 2 A- for A&P 1 and 2 and a A for Micro. Now I am totally discouraged because I think I won't get in anywhere. I am currently in NYC and have worked in clinical and surgery setting for about 4 yrs. I think I have most of the qualification except the GPA. Any thoughts nurses?
