  1. Do you all now have more or less questions after attending your welcome BBQ?
  2. The other first semester clinical is RMU (rehabillitative Medical Unit) at CMC. Like Sam and Danielle I will be graduating from MCC this May. Here to answer any additional questions and/or concerns you have about the program. Good luck to you all!
  3. My clinicals are T/W second half of the term. I know that means I'll be busy come finals but I think I'll enjoy not having to jump right into everything at once. I only have a week to get everything together. Thankfully I've already gotten all the vaccinations so it's just finding the books, white sneakers and a few other things. It still hasn't sunken in yet that I'm in.
  4. I'd like to introduce you to one of your classmates....... ME! Got the call this morning. Looking forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks.
  5. I've looked at the book list online and my thoughts on the medsurg pack is that it includes the two text books and an access code for something online. The workbook looks to be seperate. Nothing as of yet on my status but I'm hoping to hear something this week. I'll let you know when I know.
  6. I meant to type I'm now number one on the list.
  7. I am in the same position. I was wait listed for my school and just as I started to think it may not happen for this fall I find out I'm not number one on the list. Like others have told you, do everything you can do now so that if you do get in it's not a mad dash to dot your i's and cross your t's. Good Luck to you!
  8. Nothing yet. Just taking it one day at a time and hoping for the best.
  9. Yes, they invited me to join you and the other person who just got in so that I will know what to do when I get in. They did preface the invitation by saying there is no way to know what will happen but they want me to know what to do should a spot open up. See you in the morning.
  10. Danielle you just increased my heart rate. I'm currently #1. I'll be going to the school tomorrow morning to meet with Charlene to find out what I'd need to do in the event that a spot does open up. I'm so excited! Thanks for the heads up.
  11. I agree with you 100% ! I read the thread I believe you are referring to and was thinking to myself hmmm? No point? really? Maybe the original poster doesn't undertand exactly what it means to be a nurse or the huge variety there actually is in the job market for someone with an RN degree. A degree no matter what degree is never useless. Good luck to you and keep that positive attitude!
  12. Welcome to the board Samantha! Congratulations on your acceptance into the program:yeah:. I've met a few of your future classmates and they are all very friendly people. Hopefully I'll be there in Sept with you all, for now I'm still on the waitlist. Enjoy the rest of your summer! Live
  13. How's everyone holding up? Started Micro a few weeks ago and that's keeping me busy. Looking into registering for a class in the Fall and of course waiting for the phone to ring.
  14. I stopped and talked with Charlene because well I was there and figured better to let her have a face to go with my name. Talking with her wasn't so much informative as it was reassuring. At the Feb 1st deadline I didn't have A&P II done yet and that's what got me on the wait list instead of in. If I don't get in this go around I'll retake the NLN as it can't hurt. Now I wish we just had a way of accurately predicting the future to know if we're in for this fall or if we'll be starting next fall (I'm confident that if it's not this year it'll be next :)) Next deadline date the 16th if you hear anything before then keep us posted.
  15. I emailed her at the begining of this week. I'm #3 so I assume that means things haven't changed since you emailed her last week. I've been checking the classes in SIS and there is still one student of the 64 not registered. Maybe we'll find out something tomorrow afternoon at the info session.
  16. as of a few minutes ago there are three students not registered yet. The three clinical spots still open are in three different classes.
  17. OMG! Danielle how did you find that out? Now I'm getting nervous like this could really happen.
  18. Danielle-Glad to hear you got the schedule you wanted! Thanks for the suggestion to check again on the movement of the list. Julie- Thanks for checking in with Jacquie!! On my way home from the gym I kept telling myself "I will read good news for Julie today" I was hoping to see that you got in but being moved up to #2 is GREAT!! Being #2 and #3 now I feel so much more positive that we'll be getting our call in June or July vs late August! Looking forward to the meeting on Thursday...maybe by then we'll be #'s 1 and 2 or even in!! Keep thinking positive thoughts and enjoy the sunshine today.
  19. The website shows the slot for nursing students to register as 4-6 if I were you I'd be there by 3 to get in line with my forms already filled out and a second form filled out with my second choices so you don't have to waste time filling out a new form if your first choices are already full. If you have different information on time frames then apply the same principal to that timeframe. Good Luck! I hope you get the schedule you want.
  20. Thinking positive thoughts while patiently waiting :)
  21. I just got in from the gym and was going to call but now am hesitant to do so..no movement at all?
  22. Thanks for the info Danielle. Last night was my last formal class of A&P II wish that could count toward my current status and give me a boost but it doesn't. Five people missing makes things sound more hopeful. I can't believe some of the behaviour you described of those in attendance. Do they not realize how lucky they are to have been offered a place in that room I most def would have been like you...overwhelmed with joy and excitement and ready to pay attention. I will be calling bright and early Monday. Thanks for the heads up on the Math test..I'll look into that next week as well.
  23. just wondering how the orienation went.
  24. Oh My! The pressure is double then for you. Let's stay positive. I feel (today anyway) that we still have a very strong chance of getting in. People are still making up their minds about different offers and though I was told it doesn't typically happen, I'd be willing to bet that a couple of people paid their deposit but wont make the orientation because they've chosen another school and in their excitement forgot to let MCC know. Also there is the possibility that some may not realize what they are getting themselves into until orientation and decide to give up their spot. Being #'s 5 and 6 I think we still have a very good chance of getting in.
