  1. @Bella2004 Yes it is. According to my committment letter new employee and new nurse orientation is held at the Palo Alto campus for all employees regardless of assigned employment site. I have a friend who was also hired into the new grad program at the Menlo Park location, she has also been assigned orientation in Palo Alto.
  2. Got my official letter today! Yay! See you all monday:)
  3. Still havent heard or received anything:(
  4. Nurse tree,Thanks for the update. Yes I agree with you and hope we get some info. soon, especially with the tentative start date being a little more than a week away.
  5. Hello all, Has anyone who has been offered a position in the new grad program received any further information such as official offer letter, salary, shift? I was offered a postion on the LTC unit in Livermore. I have completed physical, fingerprinting, vetpro, and the required security docs but have heard nothing since. Congrats to all that got into the program! To those that didnt.. Hang in there! Stay positive and motivated. It will happen! I applied and interviewed at several places before earning this opportunity. Every no I received only put me closer to my first yes!!!
  6. My apologies! A lot of the thread is missing and my memory is not that great. Lol!
  7. Starghadeer,I remember you stating you had an interview a couple of weeks ago. Have you heard back regarding an offer?
  8. I didn't remember if they had asked for a specific unit but if they did. I'm sure I asked for E.D. as that is where I did my preceptorship. It's been so long I can't remember what was in the app.
  9. Thank you so much for the update LT1134 RN! I really appreciate you sharing your experience thus far with us. Didnt get a phone call at this point so I'm guessing I should start prepping for the next application period. Best of luck to you and please let us know when you get that job offer!!
  10. Thank you so much for that update!! I was really starting to lose hope. Now I can hope for at least a few more weeks that I will get a call:yeah:
  11. Hi airwolfgunner, Did she happen to mention which dept. you would be interviewing for? Still waiting and hoping for that phone call.
  12. Hi Kelley77, Congrats on your acceptance and I look forward to meeting you tomorrow at orientation.
  13. Is anybody in the eastbay interested in carpooling for the Oct. 13th Meet and greet. I'm located in Concord.
  14. Yup. I got it. Are you planning to attend the meet and greet on Oct. 13th? Hey Roxy, it was informing us about upcoming orientation. There is a meet n greet on Oct 13th from 5-7pm and 2 mandatory meetings Nov 4th and 5th. 8am-4pm. Check ur spam just in case it got flagged.
  15. Yes I renewed my CPR about 2 mos. ago. Pretty quick and painless.
  16. Yes, I actually spoke with her last week and she said that she had not started processing the packets for the SF cohort because she was still receiving documents(summer school transcripts etc.) and would be in touch with us once she has completed that portion. She did inform me that orientation is tentatively scheduled for Nov.4th. That's all I have. Have you completed all of the financial aid and health record requirements?
  17. Hey Rose80, I did eventually get my loan approved. I too have good credit and they still required a co-signer. Wells Fargo was not the only lender I applied to. I tried PNC and Citibank. PNC was a flat denial! and citibank also required a co-signer. I believe the reasoning is because the request amount is quite high and the economy is terrible right now. I hope you get your loan approved. We have come too far not to realize our dream. I'm rooting for you.
  18. Hey rose 80, I believe the max we can borrow for the alternative loan is whatever we still need after all federal loans and grants have been subtracted out of the total cost of attendance. After reviewing lenders I went with the wellls fargo medcap loan. Still trying to get approval. They have turned down 2 of my co-signers already. Don't know many people w/ good credit these days or people who are willing to put themselves out on the line for that kind of money. The nice thing is that the co-signer can be removed from the loan after 24 consecutive payments have been made. Still working on it:uhoh3:
  19. Yeah I am actually trying to get approval for the medcap loan through wells fargo. They have asked for a co-signer. I gave them 2 so far and they turned both of them down=( saying they were ineligible. To be quite honest I don't know what they want! My credit score was 713 and that wasn't good enough to secure my loan on my own. It is a true testament to the state of the economy. I own 2 properties and that makes my debt to income to risky for them. I have never had a late payment in my life. No foreclosure, nothing. I have one more person who is gonna try and co-sign for me. If they tell them no I don't know what I'm gonna do!
  20. Hey Rachwake, I am in the SF cohort and I am born and raised in the bay area. I currently live in concord and plan to remain there throughout the duration of school. The east bay is cheaper but it is about 30-45 min. to campus and you have to pay bridge toll($6.00/day) if you commute via car. I plan to take bart as often as possible but it isn't all that cheap either. If you can afford to stay close to campus I would recommend it. Unfortunately San Francisco is the most expensive place to live in the bay. if you don't mind me asking have you secured your loans for scholl? I am currently working on that portion.. Hope this info. helped.
  21. Well than I don't see any reason you wouldn't be eligible. The sky is the limit! Go for it!
  22. I don't believe any of that matters, but if you don't have a BA or BS degree in something i don't believe you will be eligible to apply to SMU. Best of luck to you.
  23. Hey 2bgr8nurse, I just got the email that I am an alternate too. I wonder how many are on the list and how many usually get in. Would have been nice to know what alternate # we are. Kind of sucks, but I'm hoping that you get in. Still got my fingers and toes crossed for us both
  24. Well it's after 5pm and no email, so maybe those of us who haven't heard anything might get an email tomorrow. Sleepless night and tossing and turning here I come LOL!
  25. Congrats biobabe13! I'm so glad that someone has heard back. What time did you get the email? Nothin in my inbox yet.
