  1. Me either! I was reading that someone said Worksource will help pay for some of our expenses such as books and fees so I hope they give some info on that as well!
  2. Ok that's good if you know of a class close by. Did you hear anything about the immunizations we will have to have? I have a lot of them already because I had to get them when I got accepted into UCF but I didn't have to get a H1N1 or flu shot.
  3. The place I got my CPR certification with is called CPR Training Associates. I think I paid between $35 and $45 and I received the card the same day. The class was at a church hall on the westside of Jacksonville.
  4. Yes I have the CPR certification. I got it last year in October so I won't have to get re-certified until Oct. 2011. Ok, Fleming Island is somewhat close to me so if we need a to set up a study group, we won't have far to go!
  5. I live in the Orange Park area about 10 minutes away from SJRCC closer to the Orange Park Mall.
  6. I turned my letter in the next day in person at the Campus because I live close by but I still haven't received the agenda yet. I have my CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers because I have a CNA license and I took the class on the westside in Jax with a company called CPR Training Associates and they are registered with the American Heart Association. I think I paid $35-$40 for the class:rolleyes:. Did your friend tell you what to expect in Orientation?
  7. Hello jkvanso! No I haven't received any emails yet. I think St. John's is on Spring Break this week so we should receive some kind of information next week . I know the deadline to turn in the responses is on the 23rd and the orientation is on the 30th so I am figuring we will get an email some time between then!
  8. Yes the application is different from the 1st time I applied. Now, they have 3 categories that you can fit into with Category 1 being the best. If you go to the SJRCC website and download a copy of the app, it will show you the criteria for each category. I fit in Category 1 which made my chances better but I am sure they will have others from the other categories that get accepted too!
  9. Hello! To calculate your gpa, you take the pre-requisites and for each letter grade, they carry a total "weight" which is: A=4 POINTS B=3 POINTS C=2 POINTS Add up the total number of points for the classes and divide that number by the number of classes and you get the total GPA. Example: (2) A'S, (3) B'S AND (1)C= 4+4+3+3+3+2=19 19/6=3.1 GPA
  10. Great! I will see you in Orientation on the 30th! I hear it's an all day affair but I am so excited the time will probably blow by!!:)
  11. Congrats to you for getting in! Which campus will you be in school at?? Orange Park or Palatka??
  12. Yes I applied and I just got my letter today and I got in!!! This is the 2nd time I applied and this time I was accepted. I almost gave up on nursing because I live in Orange Park and I heard that FCCJ chose Duval and Nassau county applicants first. Is there anyone else that starts in the summer of 2010??
