  1. Woo, looks like I didn't do my research well, I missed that search tool! Definitely let me know, I might start emailing and seeing if I can get the info from programs that are on the list and offer a 2nd degree option, if so I'll let you know what I find as well. :) I do know that my home state school (University of New Mexico) accepts WICHE students, but that doesn't help ME much! I'll definitely have to put UND on my list of potentials.
  2. Can anyone tell me regular or accelerated/2nd degree nursing programs that offer WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) tuition rates? So far it seems a lot of schools exclude nursing- I'd appreciate info on any that don't!
  3. Have you considered taking it online if your college accepts it? EduKan's are $500 (plus books), so it might save you time and gas.
  4. I've seen a few posts on SFCC but most are older and none have very much info. Has anyone gone through or currently going through SFCC's program? I would love to hear some anecdotal experiences about the program- what you think of it, how intensive it is, how it's respected, whether it's worth the commute if you do, what you life or don't like, whether you are/were able to work part-time during the program, etc. I have a meeting with advisement in a couple weeks to get more info but would love some personal experiences.
  5. Has anyone volunteered with the Child Life program at their local hospital or something similar? I would like to get some hospital exposure, am interested in pediatric nursing, and work at a pre-school so I am thinking it may be right up my alley, I'd love to hear your experiences with the program. Did you feel like it gave you good clinical exposure?
  6. As an aspiring pediatric nurse, I would love for some current pediatric (or even neonatal) nurses to tell me what you love most about your specialty as well as what you find difficult or just plain hate. I would also love to hear what made you choose your specialty and whether or not it was what you expected. Answer just one or both questions at your leisure, and if there's something else (stories, advice, whatever) you want to share, please do! :)
