  1. I've been applying every year since I graduated. I'm a MH RN in tier 18. My debt to income ratio isn't awful so I doubt I will be awarded.
  2. I am so anxious waiting to hear from RNs. I haven't heard anything yet.
  3. RN here and I haven't heard anything.
  4. Tier 1 here. Also losing hope.
  5. Hi Sadiemae1123. Congrats! Did you apply for the nurse corps loan repayment?
  6. Still waiting to hear if I got it or not.
  7. Has anyone from Arizona been contacted with an offer?
  8. I am a mental health RN with the VA in AZ. I only have a BSN. My facility rates 18. I was hopeful because Arizona has a lack of mental health services but now I am losing hope. It seems only graduate degree nurses are being awarded.
  9. Hello everyone! I just found this thread. I haven't heard anything either. I will update you if I do! :)
  10. What area are in you in? I started out in a small town hospital in med/surg/tele adult and peds. Maybe you could start that way?
  11. Yes, it's a very expensive program but they have a wonderful reputation and 100% board pass rate.
  12. Congrats on your hard work! Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope to have good news about my application soon! I am the most impatient person ever....the wait is killing me!
  13. Thank you so much! I will definitely keep in touch! Good luck with everything.
  14. Thank you so much! Are you finished with the program or still in it? How did/is it going?
  15. Hello, I just submitted my application for the Georgetown FNP masters program yesterday and I am already a ball of nerves! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the process was like for them or if anyone else is the application process. If you have been accepted how long did it take to get the acceptance letter? Would you be willing to share your experience? What was your GPA like? Looking forward to connecting with other applicants/students!
  16. Every nursing instructor I had said if it is in the text it can be tested. If you knew the information why didn't you pass the test? I was a straight A and B student before nursing school, my first semester of the nursing program I developed test anxiety. I took other classes during the nursing program and never had test anxiety in any of them except the nursing courses. I know it seems weird but do you think it's possible that you may have test anxiety?
  17. Just curious how you're doing in the OR? I am also a new grad in the OR and I feel so incompetent sometimes. I was a nursing assistant in an OR and a sterile processing tech which I feel like has been helpful in some ways but the doctors are still so impatient with me. I am constantly being yelled at for prepping too slow (even though I am following the recommended scrubbing time), for not having the patients on the table fast enough, for not anticipating my anesthesiologist needs (mind you these are not critical needs, these are things like not replacing their fluids fast enough). I have even been yelled at for speaking without being spoken to first. Sometimes it takes everything in me just to make it to my car before I start crying. I am starting to feel like maybe the OR isn't right for me.
  18. Hello. I have a full sleeve tattoo on my left arm and a chest piece that covers my entire chest. I also got these tattoos before I became a nurse. I am a perioperative nurse and before I was a nursing assistant and sterile processing tech for surgical services. I cover my tattoos with a surgical jacket because outside linen is not permitted in the surgery dept. I have to button the jacket all the way to my neck (which is not convienent but it's better than not having a job). It shouldn't be a problem for you, just make sure to cover up tattoos for any interview and when you come into work grab a surgical jacket. I am a new grad and got hired right into surgery. Please message me if you need anything.
  19. I agree. I wouldn't recommend randomly selecting answers. I'm glad you passed though.
  20. Have you looked into getting licensed in the compact states? I am licensed in Arizona and that gives me the ability to work in something like 13 other states. Here is the link https://www.ncsbn.org/nlc.htm.
  21. Thank you everyone! My study plan was not as intense and I've seen some people post on here. I did 100 Kaplan questions a day. The week before the exam I started re memorizing lab values and reviewed some stuff I was weak on such as endocrine. That's all I did. :)
  22. I took the NLCEX RN on June 13th and passed with 75 questions. I just wanted to let you all know that if I can do it, you can. I developed test anxiety during my nursing program and got mostly C's as a result (I am sure you all know about the awesome grading scale, my 84% was a C). I almost failed my last semester of nursing school because it got so bad I started having physical symptoms during exams. I actually threw up after one of my tests. I got on medication, which I really didn't want to do but it helped me a lot. I decided I wasn't going to go overboard studying for NCLEX. I took two weeks off after graduation then I took the Kaplan review course. I did 100 questions a day from the Kaplan test bank and was only scoring in the 50's. I did my best to stay calm before the exam. I went into the exam so nervous but I sat in my chair and talked myself down before I started the test. I ended up with over 20 SATA, 2 drag and drop and 3 math. During the exam I felt like most of the questions were pretty easy but when it shut off at 75 I didn't feel like I got enough right. The next day I saw my license number online. So please everyone, have faith in yourself! You can do it!
  23. Got my rejection email today.
  24. PlebtoRN I feel your pain. I have been working for a hospital for 5 years as a CNA and Sterile Processing Tech. I made a mistake staying in the surgery dept because they won't hire me there and HR has a policy that new grads can only be hired into the dept they have worked in for at least 3 years since we don't have a new grad program.
