  1. In the letter for the interview from Mt Hood, they said they would let everyone know who got in by May 10th. And not to call them to see if letters have been mailed out! Kinda straight forward!
  2. Congrats Ashni!!!!!! Are you in the spring cohort?! Can't wait to start!
  3. Thanks AshniPerptua! I hope your is there by tomorrow....I'm still shaking and I opened it at 11!
  4. The wait is OVER! Prov Scholars letter came today!! I got it! Good luck to my allnurses buddies, hope we all get good news today!
  5. Sakara, what is your top choice school? Didn't you get accepted to UP also?
  6. Sakara, is UP your first choice?? Which cohort did you get into, Fall 2010 or Spring 2011?
  7. Dohgirl, I think we are in more of the same boat than you think. 2 years ago I was accepted to OHSU and didn't go because I didn't like that it was a 3 year program and frankly other thinkgs going on in my life made me think it just wasn't the right time. Last year I applied to 3 schools and had no luck. This year I have applied to 7 schools, I talked to each advisor for tips and tricks. Eventhough, UP doesn't ask for supplemental materials, I still put them in, in fact I put supplemental materials into every school. Recommendations, certifications, copy of my diploma from PSU, which is also in community health ed. I also have about a 3.4-3.5 GPA. Don't give up! I really hope you get into something this year.
  8. Just got my letter from UP and I am in! I wonder when we will start hearing from other schools... U of P is my first choice, I hope someone on here is accepted so we can be study buddies! Keep checking the mail!
  9. I'll ask her more questions tomorrow, she's new to our department so I haven't known her for that long; therefore I haven't wanted to be annoying and pick her brain to no end....but trust me, I'd like to!!! :) I wish I knew how many scholarships they are giving out, let's just hope it's more than last year!
  10. My co-worker said this was her first check where it was taken out and that it will be the same amount taken out until August 2012. My mistake on a total of (3 years) 2 years and 6 months.... more like it. Either way it's a lot and something to think about. It kind of put a nudge in my stomach hearing that! She had told me last month she thought it was going to be around 400 a paycheck....which would still be a hit, but managable.
  11. Oh no, you are the one paying the taxes back! Checks are bi-weekly. I know there is a tax code used but it's the money you earned, she said her check was about as much as it used to be before she was a nurse (I think she was a CNA). 3 years of this and she will be debt free from school and be with a wonderful organization! I love working for Providence. :)
  12. Didn't get anything in the mail! Will say one of my co workers who just graduated from this program started feeling the hit! This was her first paycheck where she started paying the taxes on the scholarship, $796 per check! OUCH, but worth every penny!
  13. I'm stuck at work and all I want to do is check the mail!!
  14. Hi Deasiac, I have all my pre-req's done except for Thelogy which they say can be done once accepted!
  15. Hi! I have also recieved an interview for the Prov Scholars! I am anxiously awaiting notification of whether or not I even got into U of P!!!! I'm excited I got an interview, but it is a little bitter-sweet because I don't even know if I got into the school! Good luck to all!!
