First of all everybody gets fired for one reason or another it happens, you just have to roll with it.Second of all they do not tell you that alot of doctors do not want to deal with people from ltc .In nursing school that is one of the things they fail to mention. The third thing is you can put someone on o2 as a nursing measure up to 2 liters you do not need a mds order .Also you are the only licensed person that is taking care of that person if md will not give you an order to transport back do it any way it your license on the line not theirs. We are supposed to be the patients advocate that means we have to stand up to md when they are wrong. The biggest problem with nursing is with stupid people in charge. good luck with everything remember there are a whole bunch of different types of nursing. We all need to take new nurses under our wings and lift them up not stand on them and hold them down.
  3. We were told not flush narcotics you do not know how much of a dose you are giving them.It can be really bad if you are giving drugs like dilauded which are in smaller doses like 1mg/ml if you are flushing a 10cc set how much are the getting.
