  1. Hi, I am currently volunteering at a local hospital. I only have one month to learn and network with other nurses there. I have been volunteering in a labor and delivery for 3 days so far and to be honest, I didn't really learned a thing. But that is okay because I understand that is due to the liability and my main purpose is to network with as many nurses and doctors as possible within one month. However, they seem to be busy people so I find it is extremely hard to talk and make contact with them after I leave for nursing school. So, my questions are: 1) I know I must initiate but how can i go to make them give me more work to do so I can learn something helpful before starting nursing school? 2) How can I effectively network with these people so I can keep contact with them after I leave? 3) How can I make them remember me as a good candidate for nursing jobs if there is one open in the future? Thank you very much for your time reading my post and any input will be greatly appreciated.
  2. Can I please ask you why you don't wanna work in a hospital???
  3. @ NoblePath, wow I didn't know about intern at a hospital after graduation and how important it is in nursing field. Can you please enlighten me on that topic more? Thanksss.
  4. For all new grads who are currently looking for a job and who are already working as nurses, do you guys think it will benefit new grads to get a nursing job if they have some sort of CNA experiences in their resumes? I am asking because I am considering to take CNA program and work during nursing school as a nurse assistant. I have been told this and that about CNA jobs. Some said it would benefit you, others said it wouldn't be counted as nursing experiences thus it would not make any difference. So please advise me should I or should I not take CNA program and work as CNA during school? Thank you very much for your time.
  5. You guys have no idea your previous inputs are helpful to me and my future career. Thank you so very much. That was very generous of you guys for sharing your experiences and thoughts on this topic.
  6. Congrats on your new job!!! About the certifications you mentioned about, can I get them before I start school or while I am in school? Or do I need to finish school in order to be qualified to take these exams? Thanks. :)
  7. Hi, I am going to start nursing school pretty soon. So far I heard that nursing job market is pretty tough these days and many new grads are without jobs for months. That really discourages and scares me from investing a big amount of money and time into doing nursing school now. As a nursing student, while I am in school, what should I do to get well prepared for the job hunting after my graduation? Your inputs and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  8. @ Oneway: Thank you :). Did you find a roommate yet?
