LPN to RN Bridge programs in NY
Helene fuld College of Nursing is in NYC...that is a 1 year program. I found the staff to be very unresponsive and not very helpful. Also, Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY is 3 semesters...there is no waiting list for LPNs. I am currently a student at RCC and really like the college. I have taken all of my pre-reqs there and will be starting clinicals in September. Check it out, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. It is 50 minutes from my house but well worth the drive.

I cracked under pressure.
Getting through clinicals is tough but it will get a little better although I never enjoyed it! If your feeling overwhelmed then its a good idea to get as many pre-reqs done before starting your nursing classes, I think you made a good decision. You'll be ok, just remember- EVERYONE is nervous at clinicals and you CAN get through it. Good luck :)

I cracked under pressure.
When I was in clinicals, I felt the same way! I dreaded going and was terrified that I would be in an emergency situation and not know what to do. I must admit, I still feel this way. I work in a doctors office and make the same salary the staff nurses make in the hospitals in my area. If you decide to pursue nursing, maybe you can work in an office where theres much less pressure.

Advice: Is 2 weeks of studying enough?
With those scores, you'll be fine. I did not study at all and passed.

New here...need advice
As the previous poster stated, it depends on your goal. I personally got my LPN first and am now doing an LPN-RN program at a community college. To be honest, if your goal is to be a nurse I would go for the LPN first instead of a CNA because LPN's get paid much more than a CNA and you can get your LPN in one year! :)

How much math?
Hey - I'm just finishing a nursing program and before I entered it I was HORRIBLE at math! At first it was a little intimidating but after reviewing the formulas and having a few class mates help me, I'm now a pro! You can definitely do it...its not too bad. Good luck!

Dutchess county boces
everything else is ok...and yes, its doable. Its alot of work at the begining in A&P but it gets better after that. Be sure to study alot in A&P because alot of people get kicked out because they dont maintain a 75 average - just make sure you study alot! Its definitely managable. Good Luck!

Dutchess county boces
Hello - I'm a current student at Dutchess County BOCES graduating June 2010 with my LPN and I find the program to be unorganized and we barely got any lab time which was extremely disappointing. I am worried that when I get into the job field that I am not going to have the skill to get by. Also, just about everyone in the program feels the same.
