mblade06, I purchased my books on amazon.com and paid about $520, only because I bought new books. Other classmates used the same website and paid only $400! In the bookstore they total out to about $650-750 i believe.

i will be doing clinicals on wednesday at methodist as well!

Hey.. do transfer students get a white coat ceremony? Thats really nice.. i hope we do. Is that what the induction ceremony is on the 10th of January?

ariess2011, yes i was there. i sat on the second row on the right. i remember her saying we can purcashe the decals during the january orientation.

yea, let us know. our (transfer students) orientation was just a tour around the school, info about applying and extra stuff that seemed informative to those interested in applying. we did found out about parking. we get to purchase a parking permit which ranges between $145-$160, uniform, and all extras will be purchased at the orientation in january! i guess we all just have to make sure we attend wednesday, dec 8th's orientation to register for classes and make sure our financial aid is taken care of. ill post anything else i can remember.

knalimol: thanks a lot!!! you've answered all of my questions! if you know any people who will be taking the classes that we're supposed to take in the spring can you ask them if they are willing ot sell their books? i know the classes vary. for those of you who are concerned about financial aid, i just spoke with one of the staff members and she said, "you will not find out about your financial aid rewards until you are enrolled"! hopefully that helps! everyone: i just wanna say thanks to everyone on here for joining my post! it really has helped me through this process! also, i am attending the transfer day on the 18th! from experience some staff members are not as nice as the other staff members of other nursing school's i applied to, but they seem as if they will become nicer once they get to know you! i actually got accepted into baylor and houston baptist but i have chosen to attend pv b/c of all the nurses i know that express how well trained and prepared they were and still are. also, b/c i've always heard positive things about pv.. well, the only bad thing ive heard is just the fact that its hard and other insignificant stuff.. but every program will be hard and have it flaws! & every program in texas is fairly great! i see it as a blessing:heartbeat b/c there are over hundreds of ppl who would love to take my place,so i will work my hardest each and every day! knalimol or anyone else who would like to comment :): 1.) what would you recommend us to do to prepare for the course load, school in general, studying, etc.? 2.) would you recommend commuting from home or staying near campus? 3.) are there any "hook-ups" on books, like cheaper places? 4.) can you give a description on how your schedule for school and clinicals generate? 5.) what advice can you deliver to us for our first semester approaching??

everyone:im not sure of the financial aid and how that works.. im concerned about that too..did ya'lls pack include the scholarship form? i know it was given to selected ppl but just wondering.. also the in the packet they told us to purchase the new editions.

yay!!!! we all got in!!! im so happy!!! i cant wait to meet ya'll during the induction or those of yo who are going to the transfer oreintation! and i went to that location but they took the form and my id.

They just gave me the form we're supposed to recieve and then the school recieves the results

ariess2011, Ok thanks! I have already completed everything all I have to do is my physical and possible immunizations! Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow and be mailing my packet out so that it can get there next week! Also, really you're gonna work during school? How often? Im quiting my job at Wells Fargo because I know ill have to adapt but I am looking for like a weekend job for like 3-5 hrs a day on the weekend. Blackberrie, definitely stay positive and trust in God you will get in! You have to claim it with Faith in Jesus CHrist!

Congrats to the rest who have been accepted!! Cant wait to meet ya'll classmates! I have a few questions... Are ya'll gonna enroll in the insurance through the school? Also, any of you know where I can get a physical and immunizations for cheap? I stay on the southwest side of Houston!

I just received a letter for "provisional acceptance" for Spring 2011!!

sorry ya'll ive been mia due to school! but i took A&P during the summer at hcc! and yea they told me we wont get any letter until after oct 1st... =(... i pray to God we all get in!!

o ok i see, youre at PVAMU! I am attending Texas southern so ill be tranferring. I believe our instructions are fairly different! But yea I wish you the best of luck as well and hopefully we both get acceptance! God willing! ill try to keep you posted on my stats and you do the same! =D

blackberrie_281, after you submitted everything for PV nursing did they mail you instructions for rec letters and the essay or what? I just spoke with them today and she said she just recieved my scores and has to verify that everything is completeted. You're applying for the traditional degree (2 yr undergrade, then 2 yrs at the nursing school) right?

i just took the exam today, here are my score: reading comp=89.354 math=92 grammar=92 biology=100 a&p=84 chemistry=84 vocab=78 critical thinking=780 hopefully these are good enough to get in to a program for spring 11!! good luck to all the spring 11 hopefuls!! we can do it!!
