What pay are nurses making these days?
I work in the intensive care unit in Tennessee, base pay is $20.85 but that's before they add the critical care diff $3.50, night shift diff 4.00, weekend diff 3.50 (you work every other weekend), and if you work a holiday its 4.00 more added on. so i make between $28.00 to 32.00. no less than 28.00 an hour and i graduated december 2009, barely been a nurse for a year. hope this helps! oh and i have my bach degree.

is Saunders the best guide for passing nclex?
I just took the nclex, RN BSN, it was tough. I did the NCSBN review online. It seemed to help me alot. I passed and it was the only way that I reviewed/studied before the test. It has a ton of practice questions and that is what helped me out the most. It also gives rationals. Go to NCSBN.com and register. There are different payments/prices and you pretty much just buy the time. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Student loans - how much are you paying monthly??
Well I guess it depends on what type of loans that you have. For instance, I have the stafford loan. I owe 12000 dollars on it. I have my RN, BSN. I do not have to start paying it back until 6 months after I graduate. Graduated in Dec. and will start paying it back in July. The monthly pmt is $149.00 per month. The interest is only like 4% so not that bad. I took the loan out through my school. I live in TN. Just be careful what type of loan you decide to get. Make sure the interest is low and there are no hidden fees or catches. Hope this helps!

Waiting for nclex results!
congrats! I am so proud of you! i know exactly what you have been going through. i just checked mine and i passed too!!!! We are nurses! i cant believe it. i couldnt have done it with out God (#1) and my wonderful friends and family! The pearsonvue trick did work for me and it worked for my friend too so it's def worth giving it a shot. It goes to show that 265 questions later you can still pass!

questions wrong
I took my RN nclex yesterday and i took all 265 ?s, i think that i had like 30 select all that apply and i even had 3 where i had to put on a headset and listen to lung sounds. I felt like i didnt know anything especially the meds. My teachers said that if you leave feeling like you did bad then you probably had harder level questions (which is what you want), and if you leave feeling good then the questions were probably easy. (Im sure this is not true in all cases)This is just how it was explained to me. I wish you well. My advice is to go in there and pretend that you have to take all 265 ?s even if you dont. Good luck!

Ok so now can someone explain to me what the pearsonvue trick is??? I just know to go to pearsonvue 48 hours after the test and pay to find out the results. Is there a faster way to find out?

Waiting for nclex results!
Ok so I am new to this all nurses site but it seems like a really great place to vent and also get support. I just took my Nclex yesterday! yes that's right YESTERDAY! Worst of all I had to take the whole 265 questions as did 5 of my classmates. I have heard that it does not mean that you automatically failed but my question is what is considered a hard vs. easy question???? I just graduated from a 4 yr nursing school and I also did an online review course to practice so I should have been prepared. Hopefully tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. I will pay to find out the results. I am a nervous wreck because I feel like I did not know anything! There were diseases that I haven't even heard of! I did not know any of the meds except for 1! I had like 30 select all that apply. Is that a good thing??? I have no clue....any advice?
