I was in my 8th month of a 12 month LPN program when a very close friend of mine passed away in a car accident. After speaking with my adviser, I was given the week off for grieving and planned to return the following week. Upon returning to school the Health Science Director called me in for a meeting stating my allowed missed time had been surpassed and I would have to be put on Administrative leave, and could return the following year. I was completely heart broken after all the hard work I had done. The new year has begun and my life has completely changed. I am expecting my second child and have been promoted at my full-time home health agency. I am incredibly apprehensive about going back to school. I want nothing more than to become a nurse and further my career, but have somewhat lost my desire to be in school. Should I go back to the LPN program I was once in, or should I look for a different school or maybe a 2 year RN program which is what I want to work for. Thank you all in advance for your input!!
