  1. Hi and Congrats! I currently attend Forest Park and will be graduating in Dec. I've never attended Meramec so I can't say which one is better but Forest Park is awesome. To me, nursing school wasn't necessarily hard, it was different. Its more than just memory, its how to apply the information to different situations. On a test you will have two right answers and two wrong answers, but what is the BEST answer. If you are having a hard time, dont be afraid to meet with the faculty, they are there to help you! They will find out what your weaknesses are. Also meet with the retention coach if need be. Be prepared for clinical work! It is very time consuming! Be prepared not to have a life. My life consists of school, work, clinical, and home and not necessarily in that order. Hope this helps. You'll do fine!
  2. According to the ANAA website, ODU's program was put on probation starting January 29, 2010 and according to ODU's website "We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2011. Application deadline is February 1, 2011. Although we are hopeful of admitting a class in Fall 2011, the final decision to admit a class for Fall 2011 will be determined and posted on the website in accordance with recommendations for accreditation that result from the January 2011 meeting of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs." This is sad to hear, especially because it is my alma mater.

  4. Its funny..Im going through the same thing. I actually talked to a recruiter today in HR and she noticed I had all three things previously mentioned: previous experiece, CNA certification, and 2 semesters of med/surg clinicals and 4 weeks of OB. When she talked to the manager on the floor, the manager passed on my application because I graduate nursing school in December of 2011. The department is looking for PCTs who will stay for the long haul. Apparently the turnover rate is high. But I will keep on applying.
  5. Hello all, I just wanted to get some input from others about my situation. I applied to two nursing schools (one at a community college, SWIC, and a univeristy, SIUE's accelerated program, both in Illinois) while on the waiting list for a nursing program at a community college in St. Louis. I am currently in my first semester at the community college in St. Louis but just got my acceptance letter from SIUE for the upcoming fall semester. My question is what should I do? I have weighed out the pros and cons but cant seem to come up with a decision. Thanks in advance.
