  1. Hi, I have worked for a Medicaid insurance company for the last 3 years after 21 years of clinical experience in various areas. I've been employed in the Quality area which encompasses Disease and Perinatal Case Management. I would outreach telephonically to members with Diabetes, Asthma, or CHF while in the Disease Management team and then to pregnant and postpartum members for perinatal outreach. It's very rewarding talking to the clients. I have worked from home (telecommuted)and was required to have a separate work space. I also, as you mentioned, needed to have a door that locked for the work area to meet HIPAA requirements and and was not able to use a wireless router. I was required to go into the office one day a week which I think is important for team building and educational training. There are other case mangers in the company who also telecommute and work in utilization review, homecare and pre- certificiation. We worked 40 hr/week and it was great particularly when the weather's bad.
