Hi Hoya2009. I'm in the exact same boat. The FBI didn't receive my fingerprints until July 2nd and I haven't been cleared either. I just got back from the school of nursing and spoke to the associate dean and said to not give up hope. She said they've never dropped anyone from the program for that reason, but another guy said that they would let students know whether or not they will be dropped during orientation. Looks like it's a waiting game until then...

I applied in late January I think, but didn't have my transcripts in either until the beginning of February. I believe that most of us received our acceptance letters in mid-Feb.

I think I need to change the tags on the thread... Anyway, no I haven't even started to get my financial aid stuff straightened out, but I read some of the info on threads from previous years and they offer some helpful info. I would really like to visit before I go, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to... I'll let you know. Do you have a facebook account? I typed in "university of miami fall" in the search bar and it came up third on the thread. Let me know if this doesn't work.

I started this thread for those who've been accepted or are waiting to hear about acceptance to the UM's accelerated BSN program that begins Fall 2010. I'm excited to meet my future classmates! What is everyone doing about housing? Financial aid/loans? For non-locals: are you planning on visiting? What is everyone's backgrounds?

Thanks! I'll definitely be getting a hold of you as things come up. I haven't received anything from the school of nursing yet. I gave them a call last week and was told that they weren't going to deal with the fall class until after March 1st.

ALM2010 and Katie4: How exciting! Yes, I am definitely going. I'm from LA so I'll also be making a big move. I'm also looking for a roommate! I actually attended UM for a summer program back in high school and while I hear that a lot of students use public transportation, having a car really makes a difference. Katie4, are you planning on visiting before moving out there?
