  1. @ittran~ I bought ebooks the first semester and it was way more costly than purchasing them on Amazon. They were great because you could easily look up specific words on assignments, the program has the ability to read to you (though not well) and they also came with the my nursing lab (which you can get separately). Since then I haven't bought them because the expense is just ridiculous! If I were to do it all over again, I probably wouldn't have bought them. I've gotten by without it for the past two semesters just fine and to tell you the truth, most people don't even read them. We typically only use them for citing or to look up specific items that you don't understand. Hope that helps! Congrats & Good luck! It will be hard at times, but it will fly by in no time. :)
  2. No, I'm just going to copy/paste. Good news - Next weekend is a long weekend! Bad news - pharm test the following wednesday... haha. Seriously, the week felt long but I think that now that we're in it, the semester is going to fly by. :)
  3. So, I really don't understand the assignment for 310. Are we just suppose to fill in the blank concept map with the case study outline. That seems too simple because it's already organized in the case study. Am I missing something? Thanks.
  4. Eddie - You're a nice boy! Thanks!
  5. My blackboard is down again --- YAY! I agree with Fireheart... I'm just inferred the answers using the video as a guide. See you all tomorrow.
  6. We actually have two teachers for this class. My FOR is the interim teacher, but today she told us that it's technically not her class (she didn't make the powerpoints, assignments, exam) and that they're just sharing the lecturing. Sweet!! Our exams should be the same as yours. Thanks Tarabara!!! TTYL!
  7. Hi All - I think that the first day was overwhelming for all of us. I LOVED today though. However, I still feel really unorganized - so I'll have to work on that over the next few days. The problem with feeling like that for me is that I have a hard time concentrating on what I'm doing unless I know that I have everything else together. I'm so happy the the College of Nursing has such great faculty & staff! It really makes up for inadequacies at everywhere-else-ASU! It was SO great to be able to get to know everyone a little bit! Also, it looks like Prop 100 passed... so hopefully we wont have huge increases in tuition over the next few semesters - and more importantly so many people will not lose their jobs! YAY! Get to work! -A :)
  8. Hi RN2BE- Congrats to you too! I was also in line in the CC program. How long did you wait until you found out that you got in? Get ready -- August will be here in no time! Take care!
  9. OMG.. I'm so excited! I can't wait for Monday! At least the pharmacology chapters are only around 10 pages/chapter instead of the typical 30 to 40 pages per chapter! So, we'll only be reading like 100 pages per week for that class... haha!
  10. Yeah, FA... ugh! I can't even complain about that anymore because It's too frustrating! I did notice that our pharmacology class is now available on Blackboard. Our syllabus is CRAZY! THere are like 10 chapters of reading per week.... wow!
  11. Nothing happened with my FA either! LAME! I'll be wearing a black top and a black/white skirt. I left my info. at home. Can someone please tell me the room number for the ceremony? It starts at 3 but we're suppose to be there at 2:30ish, right? Haha.. I'm super out of it today!!!
  12. I'll try to remember to make some copies too...
  13. FYI - I totally cracked myself up!
  14. I paid a total of about $566 too! I thought that you got something extra as well. LOL... even the bookstore messes our stuff up! Hopefully you'll get your money back. :hlk:They make me so angry!!!! hahahahaha
  15. Yes, please give us tips! You both are so helpful!
  16. Congrats! How does it feel to be done? We start 5/17. That seems crazy! When you come back from summer break, we'll all be JR2s!
  17. Hey PC - If you've already completed a MPN for ASU, then it says that you shouldn't have to do it again. (If you did it for another school then you still have to do it for ASU.) Here is the link to do MPN and Entrance Counseling: StudentLoans.gov You will need your S.S.# as well as your PIN number (4 digits). I did one for ASU awhile ago and mine is still on file at this website.
  18. Both my subsidized & unsubsidized loans say that. I haven't been given the option to choose a lender yet. Have any of you done that? This is a mess.
  19. I didn't see any changes for financial aid either. If there aren't any changes made by tomorrow I'm going to call the CON. She seems to know what's going. There were tons of JR1 boxes at the bookstore. They said that there were going to order enough for everyone. FYI - It is pretty heavy (~20lbs). I remember someone saying that they were going to have trouble getting the summer parking permit in time for the program. I wanted to let you all know that there is an ASU visitor lot on the southeast corner of Fillmore & Central. It's pretty close to the CON. It costs $12 (all day) or $3/hr. In addition, the Arizona center parking garage is VERY close 5th st & fillmore (Arizona Center Directory - Top Stores, Shops, Brands in Downtown Phoenix). I don't know how much that costs, but I imagine that it's pretty comparable.
  20. I didn't mean that tuition was going down. I meant that they're not offering us enough financial aid for tuition. So, tuition will be $8K and they're currently only offering $6K... So, they should adjust their offering to $8K... make sense?
  21. I do know that by May 6th, they're suppose to be making corrections as to how much financial aid they should offer. So, I don't know if you all noticed, but they "estimate" our tuition & fees to be somewhere in the $6K area and not the $8K area that it actually is. Therefore, they're only offering around $6K for tuition/fees even though it is much higher. "Someone" at the CON (haha) told me that they should be adjusting that and that they gave them the list of the 60 students that needed to be fixed. THat's why I think that we all have the review status. Apparently, someone on main campus is dealing with this and it is really not worth going to the downtown campus because they have no idea... I think. :) HOpe that helps.. It sounds like we'll all probably be good by June.
  22. LOL! We really need to laugh at this stuff because it's all that we can do! I feel exactly the same about the financial aid people. Everytime I go there, I see everyone hanging around chatting but nobody has any good answers. I've been there three times now, and the only person that seems happy to help is the undergraduate sitting at the front desk. The financial aid advisors act as if I'm keeping them from the very "important" conversation that they're having & are very grouchy (to say the least). Maybe they really don't know anything and they're just PO'd that I keep asking... haha Now, the bookstore.. they say mid-May. I tell them that we start mid-May and they say, "well, we don't know the exact date".
  23. Tara- PM me for my teacher list
  24. Tarabarra- It makes sense that you'd find topics that you find more interesting easier. I'm sure that I'll feel the same way. Sounds like if I stay on top of the material then we'll do just fine. I can't believe that we get all of this information in 16 months... I'm sure that it'll fly by. Thx! Sabrina - Yikes.. I've been thinking about working full time but it just sounds so tough (I'll probably work like 20hrs/week & that kinda seems crazy to me). But, you do what you have to do. Hopefully you'll get a chance to change your schedule every semester b/c I'd imagine that classes will change a lot across semesters. I don't know how you're going to work doubles wed/thr/fri and go to class during the day - you'll never sleep. Good luck figuring that out! :)
