There are jobs available, but they might not be local. Im waiting to get my results for the LVN, and start putting out resumes. Just looking around a 40-50 mile radius where im from, there are jobs in Sacramento, Auburn, Chico, Nevada City, Davis, Roseville.... OK!! That was just TODAY. Dont give up. Around here with the wait times to get into rn school, you might as well do LVN first, then bridge. Im just going to take what is available for the experience, and if something better pops up, thats that!!!!

im here in NorCal, took my test a wk and a half ago- stopped at 85 ?s. All the ppl n my clas that i tlkd 2 r gettn their results in no less than 6 wks. especially if your file is over there, it will take longer, but with the furlow fridays, it puts them back even more. you must have got randomly selected to take the whole test, what a nightmare, Good Luck tho!!

My IV certification came with the nursing program, when you get your license, it will say whether you are certified or not. I dont think you will get paid more, but that just makes your resume look better than the one who doesnt have it.

I just finished a part-time 18 mo program, and I think it wasnt too Hard, it was more time consuming with all the papers, PCA's, tests, and clinicals. I feels like it's never ending! But, GOOD thing it does finally end !!!!

So, I just graduated from a LVN program. I work as a CNA at an acute hosp. in NoR CaL. The med surg floor that I work on has 36 beds and is VerY BusY. We have about 15 (day & night) LVN's. I already knew when I transfered over here that it was just to get acute experience b/c they didnt want any more LVNs. Some of the LVNs are doing a step up, and some are just happy with their role. They told all the LVNs last Jan they were getting rid of them in Jan 2011 if they were not enrolled in an RN program. Wellllll, they jus had a big meeting with all the LVNs and basically fired them as of May 1, 2010. WoW, no one can believe it, these nurses were crying on the unit. Now they will have to find new jobs, and good luck to the new grads like me!!!
