  1. Hello all, Congrats to those who have received placement in the GN programs. I am new to this thread, but been on all nurses for a while now. I will graduate with my BSN from UCF in August 2011. Just wondering when is a good time to start applying for GN programs. I read somewhere that you could apply up to 6 months in advance for FL Hospital's GN program. I applied, but got rejected. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the fact that I still have one semester to complete (summer), and others who applied are already RNs. Any advice on when you should start applying, and should I apply again closer to August?
  2. I have never been enrolled at UCF before now..
  3. my award showed up the very next day...on a saturday...
  4. That is strange, you are the second person who has told that they already have info for Fall and Spring but not summer. I have summer only. Were you a previous UCF student? The other person I talked to was, I think it might have to do with your good academic standing and history of enrollment??
  5. The I think the reason for this is because you have to be enrolled at least half-time to receive loans/aid
  6. Hi Kaiti, If you have registered already, you should have your award information for the subsidized amount they are offering. They said the unsubsidized amount will be posted later this month.
  7. Just for the lectures....we can't register for labs until we go to the nursing orientation.
  8. The cost of tuition after registering for the classes which total 9 hours so far is $1367.65. I am guessing that once we register for the additional 6 hours it will be about $2279.41 based on adding 2/3 the cost of 9 hours.
  9. Yay I was able to register too!!
  10. i asked for pine hills location...i live in winter garden so that was the closest to my house...my second choice was apopka
  11. I think it depends on your designated location
  12. I asked C. if I sent a self addressed and stamped envelope if she could mail me the cards and she said yes. But I ended up being able to pick them up in person after all..but she did tell me that would be fine. She told me that they do still need to be uploaded to Magnus. .. One of mine said it expired too for some reason, so I contacted C. and she said she would look into it. I re-uploaded it though..only one of mine said that and all the others were approved.
  13. Has everyone's immunizations and other forms finally been approved on Magnus??
  14. Seems Amazon is the best way to go.. Especially because you can get some free -shipping with the books mostly all new
  15. That is a good point you have...I don't think I have ever used one of the CDs that come with books before in my life!
  16. LOL...I know the pants are horrible!! But I highly doubt they will let us switch. The jacket is like a dress too...the SML is huge...they didn't have XS at the store or the bookstore!
  17. The one thing I'm not clear on is whether we have access to the online version of the books when we purchase them outside of the package. The benefit to this seems to be that they allow you to highlight the textbooks and create personalized study guides. Maybe the each book comes with a CD in the front regardless. I am going to try to research this a bit too because I am curious to know..
  18. I am thinking that it is a preparation package for the NCLEX.. If you login to ATI and then look at products you will see a preparation package that they have listed for $250.. I am thinking this is it. It probably includes the two items that are on our book list. This is just an educated guess though!! I am bored at work today...which is the reason for all the replies!
  19. The book package is $868.80 if you buy from the school bookstore... Says they have it for $651.60 as a used rate, but when you try to select it there are no used books available. I am most definitely purchasing my books from other sources.
  20. I felt the same way about getting RN engraved...figured I would get a new one when we graduate.. I just put my name
  21. Does anyone know if there are any regulations on the shoes we need to buy? I know they have to be all white, but do you know if they have to be non-slip or closed back etc??
  22. Has anyone started looking at the prices of books...seems if you order them online from other sources other than the bookstore you can save a lot of $$$. I added up the total of all the books I found online and it came out to be a little over $700. Compared with what the suggested price is of $1000 - $1500.
  23. "Does anyone know what all is included in the nursing pak (Lab Kit)? It costs $183 but I can't find where it says what is all included in the kit. For $183 I would like a little more information." I looked at that website and I couldn't find anything...I was thinking about calling the company and asking.
  24. I guess everyone got the email today about the supplies and such that we will need for the program. Does anyone know if the computer is something we have to purchase from the college? Or is our own computer fine?
