Patience pays off - Navy Nurse Corps
Congrats on getting selected! I'm currently in the Navy, I have been in for 12 yrs (enlisted). To answer your question about detailers, once you get selected for a set of orders they have to wait for the funding to "release" them. (each set of orders cost the Navy about $5,000) once that happens its just a matter of time before you get your hard copies. I have received orders in as little as 2 1/2 weeks other times it has taken close to 2 months. Hope this helps, any other questions about the Navy feel free to ask! Josh

i agree, but she said she would rather be do something like peds. which is fine i guess, but you want to do what you want to do right? I didnt get any support when i said i was going to flight school either. so i put most of that on hold cause it wasnt bringing any food to the table. nursing would be faster and more practical, atleast this way im not gone 15+ days a month flying all over the world. i dont know. i'll prolly just (try) do it anyway lol! im going to have to do it in clinicals anyways so whats the difference!? I keep tellin her its not like im going to be examining supermodels all day, there are some nasty girls out there! didn't help! haha

i need some advise!
Hey guys! So how many of ya'll work in women's health of any kind? and how does your wife/GF feel about it? Only reason I ask is because, I told my wife I would like to work in OB and she made the comment the other day that she couldn't be with me if I was in that field. because I would be seeing and touching other girls private parts. I know it sounds dumb from a medical standpoint, but its not like I'm a perv just doing it to " catch a peek" I have a real interest in women's studies. lets face it they have more stuff going on than us guys! anything I might be able to say to her that might make her feel better about this? I know there is a huge chance that I may not even get to work in that field, but even if I was to work in say the ER I would still see " girl parts" so I don't get it. so if you can relate to this situation any inputs would be great thanks! Josh

question about hiring?
HI! Just had a question about the hiring process, When you get hired, do you tell/ask what dept. you want to work in or do they just tell you? or do you bounce around from dept 2 dept (if your not specialized) Thanks for any info! :) Josh.P
