  1. I only just started. but nursing school is really hard. I never studied so much in my life! And I got really good grades in HS. Jobs are kind of hard to get here in CA. Don't know how you study, but definitely limit the work hours. Seems like a bunch of people flunk out of nursing school. Don't know if they studied or not.
  2. What part of "private school means you pay higher tuition" don't you get? If you think your school is so bad, quit and go somewhere else--if you can get into any other school that is. Maybe nobody else will want a complainer like you. Oh! Better check to see if the other school you go to requires ATI. Lots of California schools are requiring it now.
  3. AUHS has white students--AND minority students. If somebody didn't get accepted, it wasn't their color. Their advertising says they focus on minority students. Doesn't say no whites. That's just a goofy thing to say. By the way, the tuition is only about $30,000 a year. They have 4 Quarters, so that cost is for about 36 credits. As far as private schools go, that is actually below the average I've seen for private schools, and below the out-of-state tutition at lots of state schools. For a 12 credit load, that comes to under $850 a credit hour. I checked on a state school in Colorado (yay skiing!). Their out-of-state tuition was way higher than that! So for a private school in California, pretty much average. AUHS is new--only graduated 1 class so far. All but 1 passed NCLEX and got good jobs. Better pass rate than the national average.
  4. Hmmm. Offered a distance interview, which can be done over the phone--or if you pay a lousy $15 for a web cam you can do it anywhere there is an internet link. YOU decided to drive 1,000 for a personal interview--against the wishes of the employer. Most employers won't see you in person without a distance interview first. But you still expected to get reimbursed when the employer wanted a distance interview first? This story sounds more like sour grapes at not getting hired to me.
