I'm a UTEP nursing student sorry I can't help since I'm berly in 6th semester. But I have a question, I'm wondering after you got your BSN degree, did you apply for the FNP program. How does it work?

Hi, I'm currently a UTEP nursing student but i'm in the traditional program. But I do have some information about fast track. I know that they require either an associates or bachelors degree. You need basically the same pre-req's as any other utep nursing student. The program has been reduced from 18months to 12 months. It's a very intense program and if you have ALOT of time to devote to the program I would recommed it. If you go to utep.edu/nursing there are links for the fast track. There you can see all the pre-req's and much more info. I know you start a different class every month so you constantly have to be buying books, which can average anywhere from $200-400 per month. So if you have the time and money, I would totally recommend it! PS. UTEP offers scholarships specifically for UTEP students so you can apply for those too before you apply. Classes start either the last week of May or beginning of June. Good Luck and hope I helped!

I'm a UTEP nursing student:nurse: and the school and/or program doesn't make the UTEP graduates lazy or unprepared. The person is the one who is lazy. And I don't know why you would say UTEP graduates are unprepared if the NCLEX success rate is 96% (in the first attemp). The fact is that most people that apply to UTEP get rejected so people start bad mouthing the program. Most student are prepared and by the time they graduate the remaining students that have not been thrown out the program for their grades are well prepared. No matter where you go some nurses will be lazy or unprepared, but that doesn't mean its the schools fault. I have seen nurses from EPCC or NMSU that have been working for years and they seem like they know what they are doing but in reality are practicing their procedures wrong. So before you say UTEP nurses are lazy and unprepared, next time please gets your facts straight

Hi, I'm currently attending the nursing program here in el paso, but I'm at UTEP. I have seen the EPCC nursing students at the hospital and the only difference is the way we chart...so good luck at community. Your ganna enjoy it...you probably heard from now that it's real hard but if you learn how to manage your personal schedule with your school schedule you will be fine. I graduate this year and all I have to say is sleep while you can , cuz some days your ganna be super tired, but your ganna love it. Maybe I'll see you next semester when you go to the hospitals...Congrats on getting accepted and good luck!
