  1. Sad, I got rejected!!! I'm not really devasted. (Not yet at least.) Only applied to one school, and have to wait until end of this semester to apply to any of my other choices. (Ok, I'm partly devasted now). Anyway, I know it was because of that freakin Teas Test. I tanked the Science portion, a 63.3%, that was one of their major focus areas. :crying2: I could give a million reasons on why I think that my school's policy on Nursing Program entry is not fair. It doesn't matter that I"m on the Dean's list. It doesn't matter that I work really hard to get the 3.83 gpa I have. I got 2 new babies at home, a husband working nights, and I'm returning to school after a 17-18 year break (IT DOES NOT MATTER).:idea::idea:. Some genius decided that WHOMEVER HAS THE HIGHEST TEAS SCORES GET IN THE PROGRAM:no::no:. These are the rules! Better luck next time, I guess. (I have reached full blown devastation). I'm appealing it tomorrow!!:):) No not really, I'm just trying to remain happy, you know. Lesson learned on studying for the standardized tests, and apply for more schools next time. ;);) Lastly, I'm proud of me for having the courage to apply. Before I had my kids, I was afraid to go to college. Afraid of getting rejected (I didn't believe in my own intelligence). Today, I can say, I'm pretty darn smart. Good luck to all applying.:oornt:
  2. It's a matter of personal goals, I want to be able to be an above average candidate for the program to which I'm applying. With that said, congrats to you on your scores!! I wish I would have performed better, that's all.
  3. Not done, really!!! Just done for this semester!! I'm in A&P2 and Micro this semester anyhow. The school I applied to probably won't even consider my scores (Mercy SON charlotte) and my school only looks at the Math and English portion,( which I did great on btw) which could work for Jan 2011. I can't apply to the program (CPCC) until I'm done with BIO 169. Thanks for the encouragement and kind words though. I took none of it negatively, I know how this computer thing works. lol:uhoh3:
  4. Just to update, I got my scores today, and I wanted to cry 82.9. I got a freaking 63.3 on the science portion. I can only take this test 1 every six months. I'm done, I'm not getting into Nursing school until Spring 2011, if I"m lucky. SOOOOOO Disgusted!!!
  5. It had to be 3.0/4.0, and I say that because of the discussions that were previously posted. It seemed to be the same material.
  6. I too, am taking A&P II and Micro this semester. Along with Developmental Psych and Sociology (don't really need these) these are my last classes before Nursing Fundamentals. I'm praying I get accepted for Fall 2010, I would hate to have to sit out for a semester, waiting. I'm not worried about passing the classes, I worry more about finding time for my two little ones. Last semseter I had Spanish with a lab, A&P I with lab, College Alg, American Literature. My kids were looking at me like I was a Mad woman. This time, I'll take it easy, schedule everything (keeping a schedule does wonders for me), keep my space free of clutter (my mind and my home) and prioritize!!! Good luck with the Semester "Future Nurses"!!:nurse:
  7. took test today for mercy school of nursing in charlotte. it was soooooo much like the the ati study guide. so here is my experience: reading- i had enough time to go through and do it twice. it is exactly as the study guide suggested. for those of you who are good at reading comprehension, this should be a breeze. math- basic math, a couple of median, mean questions. the rest was fractions, mostly, and maybe 2 if not 3 simple geometry questions. i have searched this site for weeks, all the questions that were posted here, were on my test. not much to worry about, if you have at least 9th grade math skills. science- ok let's see how can i put this? either you know it or you don't. yes they asked 2 tectonic plate questions, 4 or 5 chemistry questions,(know what ionic bonding is and how it's performed). have a clear understanding of rocks, it's maybe 2 questions at the most. 2 or 3 physics questions regarding force and velocity. anatomy and biology questions were basic, i promise you, if you go to the biololgy4kids site, everything you need is there. english- this too was no problem, if you have the study guide, it is exactly the same thing. out of the 60 questions maybe 7 on spelling, 30 on punctuation and the remainder on grammar. this should be a breeze. now for those of you who had as many questions and fears as i did going into this test, relax, get the ati study guide, go to the website that i mentioned and you should do fine. there is a post in here from sacstate2010 that states a great deal that is actually on the test. find it, it was very useful. i haven't gotten my score yet, but i feel great about it. i will let you all know how it went. thanks to all who posted regarding the teas test, the information i learned here was invaluable.:redpinkhe:p
