  1. by "educate" I did NOT mean to imply that parents s/b convinced to do one thing or the other. sorry if I did. I meant WHAT kind of teaching do you do, WHAT kind of information do you include & from what sources...that kind of thing. One thing pounded in my head during school was never tell a pt they are right or wrong...besides my psych instructor would kill me if she found out I did. :)
  2. I'm a new nurse (RN) and planning on specializing in pediatrics. I am curious on how most experienced nurses view/ deal with/educate/etc. parents who make the decision not to vaccinate, or to do limited vaccinations but do not follow the CDC schedule for vaccinations. Thanks for your input!
  3. rita20@ thanks! No job lined up yet...I'm having a baby mid-feb, so I'll be competing for jobs w/ the spring grads...but I'll have a license so hopefully that will give me an edge. :) I'd love to be working, but I'm actually really happy I didn't have to compete w/ my classmates for jobs
  4. My quick (unofficial) results say pass too! It worked! If nothing else, it kept me calm yesterday while I was waiting! that was enough for me. :) Congrats Rita20
  5. I'm not sure about what you are looking for either, it sounds like you are looking for a nursing diagnosis? Does your instructor want only one (highest priority) or as many that apply (ranked priorities)? ...but either way, a fluid/electrolyte balance (dehydration) will ALWAYS outrank nutritional deficit in terms of priorities. Pain is also a biggie diagnosis you want to address... when in doubt go to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. hope that helps and good luck! :)
  6. I just took NCLEX-RN for the 1st time yesterday morning...tried the PVT just now & got the good popup! I am so excited & I am SOOO hoping it really is true! I got shut down at 75 questions...the last 30 were almost SATA every other question or so. I was freaking out!!! Thank you everyone on here that have posted encouraging msgs! It really helped me get thru the yesterday. Keep hoping for me that it's true
