  1. Hello friends! I am having a bit of a predicament. I have recently graduated from a NP program but am having a difficult time finding a job (not a surprise I am hearing). I am now trying to work as an RN in my area of specialty but because I have a masters/NP license, I really don't know how to present myself? Any ideas? Will they think that I am not 100% invested because I will just up and leave when I get a NP job? I don't want them to think that my interview is a waste of their time and I would solidly work as a RN for at least a year until I find a NP job but how to make that not sound horrible? Thanks in advance for your help and advice :-)
  2. Hey NursePrac, That is wonderful you are applying! So I am not 100% sure the mammalian class will count unless it had a really strong focus on humans. Does it have a lab? If I were you, I would contact Ann Koepke (http://www.seattleu.edu/nursing/inner.aspx?id=15600), she is in charge of the pre-licensure RN year and would probably be best at evaluating your class. Good luck to you!
  3. Hello, Thanks for your advice, I finally called and spoke with a grad admissions woman. She said I have been waitlisted...sigh. She couldn't tell me any other information about my position or anything or even if I am being considered for FNP for CNM. It is super frustrating...Anyway at least I have some info...Thanks for all of your support. Thanks, Qwerty
  4. Hello, I have tried calling a couple of times but haven't been able to get through to actually speak to anyone. When people have called, who were they calling and would they mind lending a phone number? Thanks! Take care Qwerty
  5. Hey all, I am pretty sure since I haven't heard anything, that Ive been rejected I am pretty bummed...did anyone get any mail mail last week or at all? It is frustrating...Anyway hope you are all well. Take care qwerty
  6. Hey guys, I interviewed the 9th and still nothing. I feel like I've been rejected? I interviewed for FNP originally but I think I am being considered for CNM...again not 100% sure. My fingers are crossed though. Is anyone here for CNM and if so have you heard anything? Good luck everyone:) Take care qwerty
  7. Hello, I was just wondering, for the people who have been accepted and have received either an email or an envelope, what track are accepted for? Thanks:) Still nothing for me in the mail/email.... Take care qwerty
  8. HI JSBH, Thanks for your post, all of this is just nerve racking.. lol. I am waitlisted in two programs at UW, but this year is so big that there has been such little movement on the UW waitlist. I kind of feel like SU is my last hope which is sad...I guess there is always next year if this one doesn't work out. Anyway, Ill let you guys know soon I guess.... Thanks;) qwerty
  9. Hey everyone, Sigh...my heart hurts. I have not gotten anything yet either(mail or email...well mail I won't know until after work). Hopefully the emails were personalized and it is just taking lots of time to email them;) Anyway if more people get this email, can you post? Thanks! Take care, QWERTY
  10. Did anyone else get an email?
  11. Hey everyone, Well...this is exciting. I have been away for a couple of days and reading all these posts and knowing that the decisions are coming out this week...I am a tad nervous. Guess I will be stalking the mailman today and tomorrow. Thanks for the info though:) Good luck everyone! Take care Qwerty
  12. Thanks for the summary above! Also did anyone else apply for the midwife track?
  13. Amen to that! I need that as well...I call my roommate every day around 4 pm for her to check the mail, hehe, it is making me a little bit nutty:)
  14. Hey Everyone, Thanks for all of the posts, it is helpful/scary:) I interviewed a couple of weeks ago originally for the FNP track but when I was there, I met with a woman from the midwife track because I for the most part wrote my personal statement about women's health concerns. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has heard from the Midwife track yet? I live in California and have been anxiously checking the mail and every time I read the posts about acceptances, although I am so excited for everyone, my heart drops a little bit. Sigh. Anyway, let me know when you guys hear more. Thanks! Take care QWERTY
  15. Hello all:) Hope everyone is doing well. I had an interview last week for the FNP/Midwifery track. Just wondering if anyone knows when we are supposed to start hearing back? I have been anxiously checking the mailbox the last couple of days...it's rather pathetic :-( Anyway, good luck to everyone!
  16. Hey Meggy, When I was reading these posts, that's what I thought to myself too...did everyone get waitlisted!?!?! It sounds like that, doesn't it..ya they told me my position and I will say that I think I am too high on the waitlist to get in (greater than position 10 for the FNP) but I am also on the Masters program waitlist for pediatrics so we shall see. Have you called yet?
  17. Hi Wildschmidt, I think that I am going to try to work as an RN after the BSN portion to gain some experience clinically. I am hoping that that is an option...sigh. I have been super stressed since finding out this "pause" information and also being on the waitlist. I am trying to be optimistic but I only have applied to these two Seattle schools, UW and SU. Where else did you apply? I am so glad that you have other options! Do you know anyone who is a current student at UW in this GEPN program? Also, do you or anyone know how many people they accept for each specialty? Ok take care! Qwerty
  18. hello everyone, i called yesterday to find out my place on the waitlist and i don't know...my fingers are crossed. i also applied to seattle university but i just want to know more about each of the programs. i found a blog where current students from su answer questions and it seems good but i just wish uw had that too. also in my call, i asked about the gepn program being on pause and they said that because of " the state's financial situation there is discussion as to which program can be offered/continued in their current format." it stresses me out big time because if i get into both, i am compelled to go to uw because i think it has a better rep but with this "pause" situation, it is a red flag to me just how good the program is from the inside. i think i want to know more from current students about the structures of both programs. also, is anyone going to the info session next week? i am out of state and can't sadly. ok hope you are all doing well and i look forward to some movement on that waitlist! take care, qwerty
  19. Hello all, I am kind of nervous now that I have read all of these posts. I was waitlisted as well in both the Masters PNP program and also the Doctoral FNP program. I went to the website today and saw the information about the program being suspended and am a tad freaked out. In addition, reading that post from the current student was also a little disconcerting. I really wonder how many people they admit and how many they waitlist. I called this morning to try and find out but didn't get much of an answer, anyone have better luck? Is the GEPN program accredited? I am a little concerned after that post that if you try to work in the interim between finishing the BSN portion and starting the graduate part, if potential employers will hire? Thoughts? Anyway, hope you are all doing well and wish you good luck:)
