I am a new graduate as well in the same boat you are, waiting to take my boards and I would like to go to Haiti. I keep hearing the red cross but I am not sure either.

I am also a new grad nurse and I am still currently looking for a job. What I would do if I was beginning to work on a cardiac floor is definitely review my ECG's. Once you have the basics down such as the different cardiac rhythms and medications you can start to build off that. Also, they are not going to just put you on the floor and tell you to go. You are going to probably have an orientations for at least 2 or 3 months. I remember my friends and I used to always talk about how we are going to remember all of the information we learn in nursing school and I have had plenty of nurses tell me that its what you learn when you get out into the field you want to specialize in. You will learn most of your skills from the orientation and months of training and it will become like second nature to you after a couple of months. Don't stress yourself to much but still be prepared and competent which I am sure you already are. Congrats on the new job!

I actually have a twin in SC a brother in Boston and friends all spread out in the south so I am not worried so much about getting on my feet. I am just worried about getting a job. ( O yea, and passing my boards in a month.)

Isn't it hard to get a traveling nursing job as a new grad?

Alright so I have a question... I have recently graduated with my BSN in nursing and I am waiting to take the boards. I have been applying to new grad positions all over the country. I happened to get an interview in Boston but I really want to move somewhere warm. I applied to 1 hospital in Boston and 20 in the south. If I get the job in Boston should I stay here? Do you think the reason I haven't gotten any interviews down south is because I just don't live down there and it is probably to far and to expensive for them to interview me? I am afraid if I move and go down there I will have trouble finding a job whereas I may get a job in the Boston area? What do you think?

Hey, I just applied as a new graduate to MUSC and I live in Boston as well! I really would like to move to Charleston. How easy was it to get an interview or did you have to call HR to check up on the status of your application?
