  1. I only took it once. I registered at Prometrics, which makes a little more financial sense if you're applying to multiple nursing programs because you only have to take it once and can take all the parts you need then, but then decided I was only go...
  2. UTA Fall 2010

I've never heard them give a definitive answer about GPAs, except for what's on the literature they give. More often, they talk about how it's a mix of things that they consider (GPA, hours at UTA, any degrees you might already hold, etc.).
  3. I'm not sure what their HESI scores were. You can retake at Prometrics, yes. I signed up to take the HESI through Prometrics, then decided to take it at UTA. It seems like when I signed up, I had to provide an e-mail address, then Prometrics sent ...
  4. UTA Fall 2010

They might've bumped it up to 75%, I don't know. Evidently, it's an "all or nothing," type situation. From what I understand, you don't get any more points for a 98 on the HESI than you do a 78, they just want you to make the minimum score they've es...
  5. Yes... the AP is online, but you will still have clinicals and skills lab at local hospitals that partner with the university. Evidently, you also must come to campus once every couple of weeks to take exams and tests because they are proctored. B...
  6. Are you trying to get into the traditional track, or the Academic Partnership program? There are many different things that the admission committee considers in addition to grades (e.g., whether you hold another degree, how many of your classes were...
  7. I know the advisors have been super busy lately because about half the undergraduate advising department quit early in the semester. They've hired others, but evidently it takes a while to train them, so there's basically just two advisors for all u...
  8. Overall, with a less than 4.0 science.
  9. I'm not really sure. I personally know people who have low 3 GPAs (e.g. 3.1, 3.2) and have gotten into the program...
  10. Hmm... I hadn't heard that. ? A UTA advisor told you that? Interesting....
  11. I received an e-mail a few weeks ago stating that the traditional track (not online) fall program letters wouldn't be going out until mid-May. The ONLINE program with the fall start date won't have letter sent out until JULY, according to this e-mai...
  12. UTA Fall 2010

I don't know, kickymarcia. They seem to put a big emphasis on science, but you also get a "bump" for a bachelor's degree, although I don't know how much as it's part of their proprietary scoring. You don't know unless you send one in... Good luck!
  13. UTA Fall 2010

At the "Successful Sophomores" event early last month, they said it would be the end of April, but hinted that it may be as soon as mid-month. They also said not to worry about the HESI score, as long as it was over 70. To put it another way, your ...
  14. UTA Concepts of Professional Nursing Course Info

Concepts of Professional Nursing had quizzes *and* exams, along with a portfolio, annotated bibliography, and a few other assignments, so I guess it depends on which one you're taking. :)
  15. UTA Concepts of Professional Nursing Course Info

Here's the deal about concepts - you will likely get several different answers regarding the difficulty. Personally, I found it interesting and easy, but I came to class everyday, participated as I was asked, etc. The cornerstone of the class is cr...
