Living in total poverty I need a job
Jorhyne, I agree that finding a job is difficult, it took me almost 7 months. A hospital job is probably not going to happen anytime soon because there's just too much competition. The minute I stopped applying for those and applied to long term care facilities, I immediately started getting calls. I had 3 offers in 1 week! My suggestion is to call the nursing homes where you live, ask to speak to the DON or HR, find out if anything is open? If so, drive to the facility and fill out an application (they still make you fill one out even if you email your resume) and alot of times you will get an interview on the spot. Good luck!

Need help! Best way to quit?
I've recently contemplated this question myself. I'm a new grad with no job as of yet, been looking for 6 months now. I only applied to the places I really wanted to work at and for the type of work I really wanted to do. Well obviously that has gotten me nowhere. I never wanted to look into the long term care facilities because I would feel bad going in there knowing that I would only be working there until something better came along. And not to mention having to give my notice to the manager, I would feel awful. While I've now considered long term care because there's nothing else out there, I figure I cant worry about the employers feelings anymore. As competitive as the market is, you gotta take what you can get and if you get offered something better, then take it. In your case, I would just be honest with the manager, let them know you found a position that you cant pass up.

New Grad RN no job thinking of being a CNA
I dont know that the market in Texas is any better. I've been all over the job postings out there and only one call from a hospital in Lubbock.

New Grad RN no job thinking of being a CNA
I'm also a jobless new grad but in Colorado. I've tried to get a job as a CNA and have been denied, I hear the reason is because it would create a liability for the hospital. I've given up on that option.

Are there any jobs available for new grad RNs in AZ???
I'm currently living in Colorado, graduated from an ADN program 12/2009, started RN-BSN program 1 month ago, and I really need a job. I've applied to several positions in and outside of Colorado. My first choice place to live is in Arizona but the job market seems awful for new grads there. Tried to get into home care in AZ but was told that I couldn't be offered a position until I actually relocated. Thats great and all but I cant move to another state without knowing I will have a job when I get there so I'm not sure what was meant by that. If anyone knows of anywhere that is hiring, please let me know!!
