LPN programs-PSI or TSPN???
I live in Michigan but am looking into Professional Skills Institute and Toledo School of Practical Nursing. I am wondering what the reputation of these schools are and if they hold any type of waitlist or are competitive about admission?? :)

Baker College, Owosso
I am aware that Baker allows a second chance. Unfortunately the class above me has lost 17 people, some failed for the 1st time and some for the 2nd!!!! I think that the program is flawed. How can the best of the best be accepted into a program and not hack it once they are in? This was not a well publicized possibility when I entered the program. It is hard to see the people that you become friends with, try so hard and not make it in Baker's program.

Baker College, Owosso
I wouldn't recommend Baker's nursing program to anyone. I know people who had a bachelor's and failed out of the nursing program. The best advice I can give is to do the work and keep your head down! Best of luck to you! If you need any help or advice let me know.

Transferring from Baker College of Owosso...but where do I go?
I am still looking into a few places. As of right now I am looking into Kirtland Community College of Roscommon and Saginaw Valley State University. I have all of the pre-reqs done for the program at Kirtland but cannot apply until Dec 1st. For SVSU, I still have two terms of general education classes to complete towards their BSN program. SVSU's program starts in January 2011, so this is probably where I will end up.

Acceptance into the PN Program at Baker of AH for Summer 2010?
Wondering if anyone is waiting acceptance into the PN program at Baker College of Auburn Hills? :) I took the Kaplan but didn't get the fantastic grade that I was hoping for, but still am waiting to hear none the less.

Well said! I am glad that you have chosen MCC. When I started at Baker of Owosso (pre-reqs) we were told that accreditation was right around the corner and they would have it by the time we entered the program. Low and behold they are still seeking accreditation. I have found that the instructors at my campus are not completely invested in their students. So kudos to you for choosing elsewhere. Also, I am sure that every campus has it's pros and cons.

Oakland university lpn program in detroit,mi
I am also interested in this program. Am I correct in understanding that you must have your CNA to apply for this program?

Transferring from Baker College of Owosso...but where do I go?
Thank you so much for the reply and I couldn't agree more! What I have found is that most of the pre-reqs do transfer, however not the core nursing classes. This is disappointing but not completely unexpected. It is worth it to me to start over in a new nursing program than to be affiliated with this program!

Transferring from Baker College of Owosso...but where do I go?
I have been in the ADN program at Baker College of Owosso for the last two terms. I want to transfer to another school as this school does not live up to what they claimed to be about. Basically the instructors and administrators affiliated with the nursing program in Owosso are very unprofessional and I am choosing go somewhere else. Also, they still are not accredited! My question is where is the best ADN program in mid-Michigan and with a reasonable wait list? I have started looking into Lansing Community College, Jackson Community College, U of M-Flint, and Mott. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!
