I love this big apple too! I have to say there are more jobs opportunities here, more people on public insurance so there are many health institutions that hire nurses. As far as a door man job I am waiting on line for that one, imagine no liabilities and did I forget to mention they are union! Lol

Hi La'Monique, You will pass this test and become a great nurse soon! I believe you are focusing too much in the "passing" of this test than is intended purpose which is to know "how sound your nursing judgement is, and how developed are your critical thinking skills. Nothing more".

Do you think you should be paying a "door man" in NYC $55.00 an hour to open the door for you but not a least that much to a nurse for cleaning your a$$ and for potentially saving your life? remember nurses are at the bedside "vigilant" looking out for you life... I'm just saying this to illustrate a point because my cousin is a door man in NYC making mega dinero, and all he does is greets you every time you enter in or out of your building and hold the door for you. In Christmas time (holiday season), his tips alone can allow him to live rent free for a couple of months, but us nurses not even a bonus from the health institution! what is wrong with this picture!!!!!!! LOL

New York City!! No such thing as a nursing shortage! Health and hospital corporations are overworking their few nurses!!! yes pay is good but not that good when you doing the job of 3 nurses!!

Hi Delorem, It seems like she has a grandiose personality as well and you are the perfect person for her "quick fix" I got sick and tire of this type of behavior and me being the target... now I fight back "I nip it in the butt" the first time it happens and I am not afraid to point out their behavior even in front of others so they can also get a little be of their own medicine, It works like magic, and yes we all want to be "nice, professional, well-like, christian like, yes we try to look the other way, give our cheek for people to keep slapping it, pray on it, put it in God's hands, talk to managers, the dog, the cat, talk to ourselves in the car in our way back home... and you know what? they will continue to mess with you because you allow it. Sometimes you have to mirror their behavior back to them! because believe it or not they also have feelings, even if they seem thick skin. I am sorry but this is what works for me, also I have observed how this bullies pick and choose their victims they do know who is going to give them a run for their money and who is going to become their pet! One disclaimer I am not telling you that you need to be aggressive, I am far from that but you must be super, super FIRM so they know you are not the one!!!

OMG!!! You must report these illegal practices to your state BON, and remember as nurses we have the unique challenge to protect the quality of life of those who come into our care! I hope you do the right thing and don't conform because of a pay check. Good Luck!

If you are a nurse that bullies others SHAME, SHAME AND SHAME on you! Grow up, build up your self-esteem or better yet get a counselor! because I can guarantee you that you'll meet your match and you would not like it. Remember what goes around comes around! My advice- be professional, respectful, cordial and a team player, our common goal is patient care and safety.

I am so happy that you are very determine to reach this new educational goal in your life, please listen to your heart and remeber no one knows you better than yourself, learn as much as you can, read beyond your required chapters and be the first one to try a new skill in your class. CNA's are wonderful at interacting and providing within their scope patient care, for sure you can benefit at a large scale if you become one, but if not good luck in your role as a student LPN.
