Things you'd LOVE to tell coworkers...and get away with it!
Thanks, GH. I very much agree. To some CNAs: (I'm planning to voice this one next time I witness it, actually.) Mrs. Smith is 79, prone to episodes of confusion, and understands/speaks only English, so please try to refrain from speaking and giggling in Spanish (or any other language the pt doesn't speak) as you and your friend tend to her and her room. Don't you notice the shamed expression on her face?

Surely you don't think they're all mean, do you? What's mean about wishing your fellow nurses (who you've helped in the past) would help you every so often when you need it? Or wishing nurses wouldn't flirt with young doctors? Or wishing coworkers wouldn't eat your lunch?

Ouch! Glass stuck in foot - What to do?
I DID IT! It did hurt a lot, a whole lot, and I had to take many breaks, but I did and I'm just so proud. For a while I wasn't even sure if there was anything in there or not, but I dug that thing out (with a small sterilized knife) and could actually see it. I washed it down the sink. No tears, just grimacing and then glory. Awesome. ?

Ouch! Glass stuck in foot - What to do?
Ha, I came here looking for the same advice. I've had a shard of glass stuck in my foot for 3 days now. My Christmas is being ruined because of the pain! Seeing that the best advice is to dig it out and brace yourself for the pain is making me want to cry like a child. I was so hoping to read posts filled with pretty tales about it falling out on its own, haha. It's really deep in there and naturally, I don't care much inflicting pain on myself but I guess it's unavoidable. Ok... I'm going to go and dig it out now.

Blindfolding: Is this an intervention or abuse?
So a blindfold is worse than two people physically restraining a pt?
