  1. Hopefully that is the case. I mean, if ppl are paying that much for an associates they should at least have the option to further their career. Fingers crossed!! I'll be applying to Galen in a year!!! Thanks for your posts!!!
  2. Is there any pre-reques to get into Galen?? Or, any classes I could take now to take some workload off of me while I'm in the program? Thanks so much!!!
  3. Mr. & Mrs. LVN, Are you and your husband still attending St Philips?? Or, are y'all done? Did you end up liking the school?? I was just wondering cause I'm still trying to figure out which school to attend. Our move date got moved back 8 months =( ANyhow, just let me know how things have been!!
  4. Thank you so much for your reply!! I have been going crazy about which school to attend. I would rather attend St. Philip's since it's accredited, so now I feel better. Thank you so much!!
  5. I had them send me some information on the LVN program to my email. It covers most everything. If you give me your email, I can forward it to you, if you would like. Just let me know!
  6. Nope, not yet. We are waiting on our orders through the military, so we can move! I am just trying to get everything done and figure out exactly what I need to do because I want to be able to apply as soon as I get there!! How about you?
  7. Does anyone know of any accredited (will transfer into my LVN nursing program) ONLINE Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2, Medical Terminology, and Nutrition classes?? I need to take theses classes, but I live in England at the moment (military), so I was thinking I could take them online so that when I moved back to the states I would have them out of the way!! Thanks for any help!!!
  8. What are some of the classes that I could go ahead and take now? Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2, nutrition, medical terminology, and Psychology:developmental and lifespan?? Is that all? Thanks so much for all your info!!!!
  9. Are the Growth and anatomy class required to take during the LVN program? If they are required, if I took them before I applied to the program, then would I get away with not having to do them during? How is the school, students, and teachers? I have heard some really really bad things about the school. Such as, super rude people, people getting beaten up for looking as if they had money, and the teachers hate each other, and that the teacher act as if they don't care. What is your experience so far? Sorry for so many questions, but you are the only person I have found that has or have went to that school. I am considering St. Philip's or Galen. Thanks!!
  10. Hi all! I have been doing so much research on different LVN programs in San Antonio, which I believe are 3 or 4. I have decided on Galen or St. Philip's. I can't find too many reviews on either college. Does anyone know anything about them? I was thinking of going to St. Philip's because it's cheaper, and fully accredited so that I could get my Bachelors later on if I decided to. But then I found a website where it had 6 horrible reviews. They said people were getting beaten up for having money, teacher's were unprofessional, etc... I can't find anything on Galen College, but it's much more expensive. I do believe their LVN program is accredited, but the LVN to RN isn't. I am willing to spend the extra money on a good school, but I just want some info on each school. Also, if you have went to either school...please share your experience, classes, teachers, clinical, and anything you'd like to share!!! Thank you so much!!
  11. Hi, Ok, I am 26, and I think I FINALLY know what I want to be when I grown up..A NURSE!! I was going to school to be an Elementary teacher a few years ago, but the job market for teachers is horrible. Anyhow, my husband, daughter and I will be moving to San Antonio soon and I am interested in the LVN program at St. Philip's College. Is there a waiting list to get in?? Any pre-reques? I only have a 2.5 GPA. What are the classes and teachers like? Thanks for any info!!
