  1. Oh and by the way I had a knee operation when I was 16 that resulted in 5 more casts and finally another proper surgery when I was about 23...... Know how much more extra money I received for my suffering? Zero... because I didn't sue because I had a bad knee.... The injury occured playing football originally but according to your qualifications of something that will affect me for the rest of my life... I think I know a little bit more about such things than you think ... Oh and due to the size of the scar on my knee and a later finding that the operation done was of absolutely no help in rectifying my orthopaedic problem, I'm sure you could've made a case that the original operation was botched.... but ya know what .. I don't even worry about it.. I'm just thankful I can walk. Just my two cents. Good Luck .. hope ya make a million bux .. rofl Send some to pay off my student loans when ya settle. Like i said.. they are your legal rights... have fun.
  2. Well thanks for the responses.... Sorry I couldn't get to them until today. Like I said, being just one of numerous hypocrites out there, which I most certainly am. I just thought the timing of the two events was ironic. And if a true medical mistake were made, my post was in no way to dissuade you from pursuing your legal "rights". But I think it's an opinion shared by far too many who never voice it. Other than that ... Good Luck..... It's obvious though by your response, well I'll leave that to you to decide
  3. I hope it gets better for you. Some times If I just give myself a few quiet moments and do a little meditation... I find the answers come more easily. It's not for everyone. But I do hope you find serenity in whatever you choose to do. It's not easy nowadays. BK
  4. Hi Waltern. It's a personal choice. I smoked for 20 years and in the past year have finally been able to give it up and I can communicate this at least; IT IS SO MUCH BETTER ! I MEAN LIKE NIGHT AND DAY. I know right now that may not seem possible to you but if you do decide to embark on this quest realize there are many many people out there who will offer to help. One site I found useful was http://www.stopsmokingcenter.net, however there are many around. Try to do it for the next few minutes, then the next few hours and if you slip don't throw in the towel get right back on the horse. Freedom from smoking is just around the corner if you keep walking down the road. Drop me a line at [email protected] if you wish. I wish you all the best in your decision. It's a difficult one to make and a difficult road to follow ..... BUT IT CAN BE DONE UNDER ANY AND ALL CIRCUMSTANCES.
  5. Several Areas to choose... I live in "Rydal/Cheltenham Township Abington which are in the suburbs and a decent area with moderate to expensive rates for rental properties, however you would be a good 15-25 minutes away from campus by car with train service nearby. Or if you are truly serious, I have a friend who owns a few duplexes in Northeast Philadelphia along the 56 trolley route. It's a safe neighborhood with reasonable rent and nice apartments. If you like you can actually contact me at [email protected] and I will forward you the information. If you want convenience, you'd be better served staying in town, however your rent will tend to be much higher. I don't usually solicit things like this but I noticed the program you applied to and admission date, and I'm considering applying for the same class and just figured I'd tell you about the place that I know he has vacant because another friend of ours who is a CNA moved out and bought his own house not too long ago. So drop me a line at the above email address and I'll give you his email and you two can talk if you wish. Good Luck either way. BK
  6. What amazes me is someone's capacity to discuss legal action while about to pursue a career in nursing. Not to say that legal action is not often necessary in certain circumstances and given an obvious transgression should not be pursued. However, considering the fact that you intend to be entering a profession where you yourself my face other unrealistic expectations..... I'm sorry I don't know all that much about your particular case and I grant you in many cases seeking legal advice and action is warranted. However, what strikes me is the juxtapositioning of such a thing before your first day ever being employed in a health care setting. Alas, such is the world today. I'm no better than the next hypocrite. Just funny I thought. But sometimes I find things entertaining. BK P.S.- Wonders how someone may feel as a defendant should they have to provide their own liability coverage lol
  7. Well having lurked a bit, I notice that some have commented that "informed" students would be wise to check the Pass Rates of schools, however as with most things that information does not seem to be readily available. I'll seek it out on my own but if anyone wants to save me the legwork, it would be much appreciated. Good Luck all and have a great day. BK
