Boston College Masters Entry Program 2010
Thanks lrc13!!! I'm going nuts right now because I tend to procrastinate on this stuff, so I'm frantically trying to get stuff done in the short time I have left! And hello to everyone else! I was typing my response to dgrimm and when i hit post, i saw all these other replies! Looking forward to meeting everyone! We should start a group or something outside of this forum so we can get to know each other better (I have no idea how though). I just moved to Boston not long ago, and I feel like I don't know anyone... :-\ It'll be nice to actually meet new people soon. :)

Boston College Masters Entry Program 2010
Haha, well whew! I'm glad I didn't miss something huge in all this frenzy. I don't have another Masters and if it helps, my financial aid is almost the same as yours, so I don't know how it works. My fiance will be helping with the housing expenses and stuff, so I'm hoping that will help us out some, but I don't know how the heck we can cover everything else... if you find anything else out, please let me know. :)

Boston College Masters Entry Program 2010
Oh yeah, I haven't had time to think about much school stuff because I'm getting married towards the end of this month, but have any of you gotten any information about registration yet? I just wanted to be sure I haven't missed something important since the last email we got about immunizations/CPR... I've gotten the pre-reqs done, am looking into CPR courses, and plan on doing the bloodwork needed. Is there anything else I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

Boston College Masters Entry Program 2010
Wait, dgrimm, did you get a physical letter from BC about financial aid? :-\ I didn't know awards were out until I happened to log into the portal and saw something listed under my financial aid. I was surprised because I thought I missed some deadline or something. I called the finaid office because it listed my expected date of graduation said Spring of 2014 and I was nervous about that, and they mentioned to me that all loans offered on the letter are assumed to be accepted unless you tell them otherwise. Aside from that, they didn't offer any more information about outside loans. I do know that our summer session of 2011 isn't on our financial aid letter because that session applies to next year's FAFSA. Does that help you at all? I think the estimated cost on the letter includes that summer. Sorry I might be confusing. I'm a little concerned too... :-\ If anyone else can chime in with more information, it'd be appreciated! :)

Oh yeah, I should probably do some research myself. June is probably the best time for me to do it as well -- if anyone has any suggestions or wants to take a course with me, let me know! :)

Simmons College Direct Entry 2010
I've been accepted to the program, and my acceptance letter stated that they were no longer doing programs for anything other than the FNP track. It was the first I'd heard of it (was I just not paying attention?!), but I'm not sure if that sways your decisions on where you want to go. Good luck to those waiting to hear still!

Direct Entry Financial Aid
I'm kind of hoping they go by postmark date, because I couldn't get it done before the post office closed yesterday. ::sigh:: I feel like I'm always behind...

Direct Entry Financial Aid
Hi folks, For those of you applying to Direct Entry programs, have you all already submitted your FAFSA and the appropriate school forms to each of the schools? I was originally waiting for acceptance notifications but realized the deadlines are much sooner than some of the schools' notification dates. Needless to say, I'm a little late on a couple of schools forms, even though my FAFSA has been filed already. I think one deadline was Feb 15, but I hadn't even received my W-2 information from my employer at that time. Eeks. :-\ I hope there's some money left! lol

I was told a while back from the admissions counselor that they normally receive 300 applications for only 35 positions. It's rough!

I'm slowly losing hope myself... I guess if they have been going by specialty... I'm out of luck! =\ Congrats to everyone so far though!!! :)

Non-Early Decision Regis Candidates?
Yeah, I had the interview before I turned my application in. Hmm...

Simmons Direct Entry Applicants?
Hi ladies, Just a quick question about the application process -- I can't get a hold of the office of admissions right now and I want to get this sent and done with! For the resume that you have to submit, do they want you to tailor the resume to include only those things that they list as necessary or did you use your usual resume and just make sure that all of it was included -- and what if that put you over a page? It also says, "list the most recent information for each category", and it sounds almost like they want only the most recent listing for each subject (ex: one employment, one volunteer, etc). Am I understanding this wrong? My normal resume has a couple of other sections (skills, awards/honors, etc) and if I add to it, it'll be over a page in length. I guess I'm just confused. Can anyone clarify or at least tell me what they did? Thanks!!!

Non-Early Decision Regis Candidates?
Hi folks! I'm new to the boards, but was just wondering if anyone that had applied to Regis College's nursing program after the Dec 7 early decision deadline has heard back about their status yet? It's been over a month for me now, and I'm wondering if it's because they've been working on those acceptance letters for early decision or if something else may be up. Thanks in advance! :)
