  1. At DMC Bachelors nurses vs adn nurses make basically the same pay from what I heard. I've heard its like a .10 difference at the most. They usually pay based on years nursing experience. It's up to you how you want to get your degree. I'm doing ADN first for the reduced cost. I'm not really worried about not finding a job. ADN is two years after acceptance and BSN is three years after acceptance. I think that is just a personal choice. If I could have gotten right into a bachelors program I would have but couldn't due to cost.
  2. Can someone PM me the reading list for the first week sent out by The Pharm Professor A. My stupid new phone deletes my emails after I open them. I have to get rid of this phone before NS starts.
  3. MsAshley I don't know if we talked before but I remember you where looking at all these different schools (Including Schoolcraft) where I start this fall. I'm so glad something worked out for you!
  4. I know you start this year but I asked because you were moved up a year. A lot of the people in my micro class are on the waitlist. My plan is to to right into a rn to bsn bridge program after finishing at schoolcraft. The hospitals are becoming too biased towards bachelors nurses now.
  5. Tiffany are you taking any classes this semester? I'm asking because there is a Tiffany in my Microbiology class starting the program next year, was wondering if you were the same person.
  6. :/. I'm really excited about starting the program but I do have to say this whole thing feels a bit rushed. I received my packet April 1, I feel that they kind of put us under the gun with the short time it's due. I couldn't see my doctor until today. Did my chest x-ray. I have to wait a week to get the results in the mail, I had to have tithers drawn. I just realized that in addition to the tithers we have to have the actual lab print out, so now I'm struggling to get back in touch with my doctor to get an actual print out. I'm happy my CPR was already done. On a side note has anyone been able to get in touch with anyone in the nursing office? I have called four days (both numbers) in late morning and the afternoon and still haven't been able to get a live person.
  7. Nevermind. I just realized that if you have yearly tb testing you can just submit proof of that.
  8. What are you guys doing about the two step tb testing? I can't get in to see my doctor until 4/14. A two step tb test takes a minimum of 9 days. I have no idea what to do
  9. I meant like dates that we have to have stuff in by. I know I will get it soon. Just was anxious . The wait list now is 2015 I would look some where else honestly.
  10. Did the letter say anything of note ?
  11. Hoping mines comes tomorrow. Didn't come today.
  12. I wasn't bumped at all. I waited my full two years.
  13. I'm taking the 8 AM Pharm
  14. this is taking so long its almost like they didn't know they were going to have a nursing program... 2 years ago.
  15. I ordered the kindle edition, I'm enjoying it so far. How is informatics going umich?
  16. Thanks. I was beginning to worry. I'm so excited to get started. I purchased a book called Fundamentals Success by Patricia Nugent. it's supposed to prepare you for Fundamentals. I figured I would read this. i want to read supplemental material before starting. A lot of people who reviewed the book gave it five stars, and they said to read it before you start the program. See you all @ orientation soon hopefully.
  17. Just making sure -- has anyone gotten any more information or correspondence from the nursing department? I was expecting to get something in march and here it is half way through. I hand delivered my letter to the office and I saved a copy.
  18. The schedules are posted for spring. Looks like Pharm is only offered in 12 weeks now. I had heard too many people where failing the seven week session. I'm taking the section from 8 - 11:38 am, then the informatics from 12 - 2:07 pm.
  19. Hey, got a form today from SC asking me to confirm my enrollment plans.
  20. So excited beyond words. I wonder how many guys will be in the class, one of my friends got accepted for 2012. I'm hoping he gets moved up so I will know another guy in the same group as me. Registration for spring & summer is March 26. I'm so excited to take Pharm and Informatics after waiting two whole years.
  21. umichmsu - Did you get the email about being able to take Nurs 102 this winter? It conflicts with one of my classes, so I will take it in the spring.
  22. Thanks, I start 2011, so I'm taking Pharmacology and Informations in May and I start the actual nursing classes in September.
  23. I think we talked about this before. There is no part time program. The program is as easy as possible, you take one nursing course at a time except for the Spring/Fall semester. There is no other way to be part time. Also like we discussed before, the waitlist is atleast four years. I remember you saying you had a child and needed late classes, by the time you get in your child will be in school.
  24. Usually schoolcraft won't accept an application unless you meet all the requirements. You should have had to sit down with a counselor to finish the application, which includes taking and interpreting your scores of the TEAS test; if you did that and they accepted that and your other grades you are in. Applying to the nursing program is different from applying to the school, however the waitlist is until 2015, so I would persue other options. I have been waiting for a year and a half. And I finally get to start in 2011 so about 7 more months.
