  1. Sorry to hear that. I also applied to university of south alabama. I just knew i would not get accepted to OU. I was really upset when i didnt get into the alabama program so i just threw the thoughts of OU out of my head. I was completely in shock when i got their email. My gpa is not the best from my previous degree but my last 60 hours was really good.Just keep trucking, i firmly agree things happen for a reason. Best of luck.
  2. I got an email today....I'm In!!! I received admission into the part time program.
  3. Thats a big drop. Is that specifically for their online np program?
  4. Just gor my letter. I didn't ger in
  5. Congrats!!! And good luck everyone!
  6. No letter yesterday either. Lets hope for something by wednesday at least.
  7. I seriously hope those letters are mailed out today if not already done so.
  8. I know the mailman is tired of me stalking their van.
  9. I've been saying that for at least 2wks now lol.
  10. Anyone recently interview for their np program?
  11. My friend applied for spring 2014 and it seemed she got her reply in a timely manner. Also, after reading old threads it seemed they didn't have a problem either. Of course this was for spring/fall. Maybe this year there were more applicants than expected?
  12. I wonder how many people applied and how many they will take. I thought for some reason that fall/spring would have been the more busier application period time.
  13. Yeah I just saw the email as well and agree with your comment. Hopefully the wait will pay off and we will be accepted.
  14. I don't think i will do the condensed program. It might be a little to much for me.
  15. I don't know what to believe. 2 weeks ago when i contacted OU (another program i applied to) they told me the same thing, letters will be mailed out next week. That very same day i received their acceptance letter for an interview. So who knows, they may just be telling us their standard message.
  16. I also applied and interviewed at the University of Oklahoma. Still waiting on an acceptance their too.
  17. Ugghh! I hate this waiting period!
  18. This waiting is just making me so much more anxious!
  19. How long did it take for you to receive your acceptance/denial letters after you applied?
  20. Has anyone received an acceptance to their summer program yet?
  21. Hello all you future NP1 students! I am currently finished with NP1 as of today (tuesday) and I thought maybe I would share some advice with you guys. I just read some comments from mommaof3 and it seems like they are making some good changes for you guys. Care plans are a pain in the you know what. Any way the biggest thing I want to tell you guys is to start studying for the final on the first day of class. Seriously! Keep up with your readings and after every test make sure you go to the review with you assigned teacher. Nursing school can and WILL get overwhelming. Your best resources will become other NP1 students. While the teachers are "helpful", talking to other students and making some kind of friendship will help you throughout the course. Someone always knows where to get the best review book or is willing to share info to help out. My best advice for test taking is to read EVERY chapter in the Wilkenson's Vol 1 book assigned for the designated test materials. That will become your bible. Truthfully, you can do without the wong's and medical surgical. I didn't use these for testing at all just for care plans if that. Also, buy an actually care plan book. I used Nursing Care plans (Glunaick/Myers?) and it worked awesome. We didn't use kee until the last 2wks of the semester. Hold off on buying the simulation code until the teachers tell you when to buy it. I bought one and didn't even use it this whole semester. If you can, buy all your books used online. They are a fraction of the price of the bookstore. Hmm...anything else I'm forgetting? There is so much I can go on for days. Anyway you can PM for more info, I don't mind helping others out!
