Wedding Band Tattoo
One time my sister was rushed to the emergency room and was taken care of by a male nurse with his forearms covered in tattoos. Yuck!!! I couldn't believe the hospital would allow him to have his tattooed arms exposed. I was really turned off.

Temple v. Drexel v. Jefferson Nursing Program
Thomas Jefferson University is definitely the best nursing program of the three you listed. No doubt about it.

Buzkil: You are 41 now and will be in your 60s in the blink of an eye. See if you still feel the same way.

Older Nursing students
To buzkil: You are entitled to your opinion that beginning a career in nursing is "odd" when one is in their 60s or 70s. Do you know that life experience is the greatest teacher of all? A person in that age bracket has seen and felt so much that nurses come in contact with everyday. Personally, I feel that "older" nurses are much better and relate much better to the patient as well.

I have worked my tail off for the last two years and completed all my prerequisite courses. I have been admitted to Thomas Jefferson University and will begin in the Fall of 2010. I will have my BSN in two years, when I am 50 years old! What a great 50 year old birthday present that will be!!!!!

Thomas jefferson University BSN program fall 2010 " Interview"
Schedule for BSN program for Jefferson: It is a full time two year program. All day Monday and Tuesday is in the classroom (8:30-4pm). This remains the same throughout the 2 years. Two day per week are in clinicals either the 7am - 3pm shift or the 3pm-10pm shift. These two days are always back to back for 7 weeks. Every 7 weeks your 2 days and hours will probably change. There is only one time during the 2 years that you will have to do a weekend. I may have left out some of the details, but that is the gist of it. If you have any further questions, speak to Danielle in admissions at Jefferson. If I were you I would apply asap. They may already be filled for Fall 2010 entrance by now. Good luck on your decision.

Can you get into nursing school with a D for A&P1?
No way. The sciences are the most important grades.

Thomas jefferson University BSN program fall 2010 " Interview"
Don't give up. You have an excellent GPA. I first applied for admission for Fall 2009 in April of 2009 but was told that the program was filled, and I still needed to complete more of the prerequisite classes. I had more classes to complete than I thought. I was emailed for an interview in September of 2009, and at that point I only had three classes left to take - chemistry, abnormal psychology and an elective (took social problems). I think they like to see the majority of the science classes complete. I was told toward the end of my interview that I was in and would receive an acceptance letter. Please do not give up. As I stated, I first applied in April 2009 for Fall 2009 admission and did not get in. Your GPA is excellent, but they do want to see the bulk of the classes completed before acceptance. Best of luck to you and keep up the good work!

Hi Morningdew, Congratulations on your acceptance! I was also accepted to TJU for Fall 2010 admission to the BSN program. I think I responded to your question concerning the interview a ways back. I am so happy for you!

Opportunities for pre-nursing student
You don't have to limit yourself to just hospital work or nursing. I have been a personal trainer and group exercise instructor for years and I think that helped me get into the pre-licensure program. If you have an athletic ability or are interested in fitness, you can get a job at a health club. I think they like to see that you have an ability to work with people to improve their health. Good luck!
