I got my reject letter

My first choice was oncology too :) but no call for second interview

I think people got rejection letters because the unit of their interest is not hiring. So don't think you were not qualified or anything :)

Are they hiring a lot because the Santa Monica location is doing a lot of construction or is there just a need for nurses ?

I'm sorry to hear about the rejection notices. I know our chances is very slim due to the fact they're hiring only 10. I hope the economy turns around to our favor so we can all be hired by hospitals because they desperately need us.

Actually I have three friends that were hired from my nursing school. They are new grads but they did not go through what were applying for. They had a preceptor and also had to take classes. One of them told me that they just kept calling the HR until something opened up. persistence I guess :)

Thanks Potassium ! That info is really helpful. Now just have to wait out the two weeks. Hopefully we all get to the next step. To think about it. I saw from one post they're suppose to be hiring 80 so if there's 200 of us we have a really good chance :)

i believe the starting salary was $34. something. I forgot the cents but for sure the dollar amount is accurate. That was on the application information.

Are there anyone else still scheduling for an interview or is scheduled? Just want to know if TalentPlus interviews are over. My friend had hers this week.

I only got an email because I emailed the HR person and she said they received my questionnaire and does not need anything at the moment. Remember from their post that they might not even have openings. I don't know it's pretty confusing to open up applications if there isn't any openings. Don't be discouraged just email the HR person and I'm sure she will let you know if they received or maybe just call :)

I've interviewed for another hospital and if I get it I feel torn whether it would be wise to pick the first hospital who hires me. I know UCLA has a really awesome new grad program. I just want to start my career as new nurse in the right setting for me to grow with the right training, teaching and support.

Mine had to be split into two. I answered 64% of the questions in 1 hr. 15 mins. The lady said that she had to interview someone else and someone was going to call to finish the rest of the interview. I feel I couldve answered some questions better but there was no way to prepare. Some of the questions were kindnof weird. Just thinking positive my answers were good enough for another interview.

What does your application status say ? If it says you have been contacted for an interview just be patient and they will call. The interview is conducted from TalentPlus and was not from a nurse manager from a particular dept. Hope this helps.

I just had my interview. I just hope I answered those questions right. Good luck to everyone whose having theirs soon. My best advise is to be yourself and keep calm answering the questions. I hope we all go to the next level :)
