Help please! am a new nurse.
Sweet. Your a rock star!!! Thanks for you help. One more question if I could? Where can I find if my school is accredited in the US? I found it once before but tried again last night and could not. Just being paranoid I think.

Help please! am a new nurse.
That's great news. I was planning on returning to my home state (CA) and living there while I study for the NCLEX but it looks like your saying I could take the CA NCLEX from TX, even better. Thanks Again. PS: How long did you study for? Did you take a review course? If so, which one?

Any Filipino Grads working in Texas?
I couldn't find what I was looking for but I did find this new thing to worry about: http://www.bne.state.tx.us/olv/examination.html E)All international applicants must provide proof of working in nursing for a period totaling two (2) years (i.e. 24 months) at anytime after graduation from a nursing program. F) If you have not worked at least two (2) years as a first level, general nurse within the four (4) years preceding the filing of the application, you will not be licensed until you complete a Foreign Educated Nurse (FENS) refresher course consisting of 120 hours of classroom instruction and 120 hours of clinical practice under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The applicant required to take the FENS refresher will be given a six (6) month permit to complete the refresher course. I hope a foreign grad licensed in Texas can shed light on this for me. Thanks Again.

Any Filipino Grads working in Texas?
Thanks for your reply but I could have sworn that I read that requirement for foreign grads somewhere on the Texas BON site. I will review requirements again but in the mean time I hope that someone who has graduated from a foreign program and has been licensed in Texas can answer this. Thanks in Advance.

Help please! am a new nurse.
dibuho: Do I understand that you DID NOT take the Nursing Licensure Exam in the Philippines? I thought Texas required you to be licensed in the country that you graduated from? I'm graduating in March with a BSN from the Philippines but have no plans on working in the Philippines but I've read that Texas requires you to be licensed in the country that you graduated from if your a foreign grad. Can you please let me know how you did it? Thanks in Advance.

Any Filipino Grads working in Texas?
I will be graduating with a BSN from the Philippines in March but don't plan do work in the Philippines. I noticed that to work in Texas I must be licensed in the country where I graduated. 1. Do you know if this is something that can be waived since I'm an American Citizen and not planning on living/working in the Philippines? 2. If I'm licensed in CA (my home state) then move my license to Texas with Texas still require me to be licensed in the Philippines even though I'm already licensed in CA? Thanks in Advance for you reply. LABSN2010

California License Requirements
What can the California BON "legally" require from you? I had a friend who was asked for a copy of her passport but I don't see this as a requirement anywhere on the application. So my questions remains. What can they legally require me to provide when applying to take the NCLEX in California? I don't have a problem providing the information if it's legally required but I have a problem with being asked to do things that are not being required from anyone else. What's to stop them from asking for my first born?

Tired of being FAT and having low self esteem
We all know what to do to lose weight but doing what we know is the problem! I've been trying to get to my ideal wight of 165 for years now. I'm only twenty pounds away but I can't seem to do it. I even tried P90X for 30 days and guess what? I didn't lose one pound!!!! Not one! I worked out like a mad man but didn't follow the diet but I did eat health but I guess that wasn't good enough. So I concluded that to lose weight we must totally have "portion control" and keep a record of what we eat. But I still haven't followed through on this idea. So if you resolve to do this I will do it with you. Let me know when we start. lol.
