I just had a quick question. If you're on the alternate list aren't they supposed to notify you that you are? I was just wondering because my recruiter was not sure about it either.

I'm sorry that your recruiter didn't have good news for you, farawaysoclose. I'm afraid that I'll be probably hearing back the same thing from mine. Don't lose hope though if this is something that you really want to do I'm sure things will work out for you :)

farawaysoclose, i actually didnt do a tour of the big three. i figured a hospital is a hospital. i'm still undecided yet where i want to be stationed first. i've been in the east coast my whole life so i kind of want to go west just for the heck of it but i guess we'll have to see.

farawaysoclose, i first contacted my recruiter april before i graduated this may. i knew i was kinda late in getting started but i didn't think i'd have to wait this long. as far as why i decided to go into the navy is the same as you too. i just appealed to me more than any of the other branches without an exact reason :)

i'm right there with you! i submitted my package early sept and have been waiting since. i haven't heard from my recruiter since i was professionally recommended in late november and i've gotten tired of calling him to get the same answer. just wait a bit longer. i'm some what relieved that i'm not the only one waiting to hear back from the navy...!! im just waiting for ANY news now so i can DO something instead of feeling like im pointlessly waiting around....

Can I ask when she submitted her packet? I have submitted mine in August for the new FY and haven't heard back yet from my recruiter.

I am getting bit tired of waiting. I have submitted my application beginning of August for the new FY and my recruiter keeps telling me that I should hear something soon. Whenever I call my recruiter every few weeks he keeps telling me that I should hear back something soon and that is it...I have been searching everywhere to find out more about this whole process but am not finding much information about it... Anybody know more about why it's taking so long and how long is the "normal" wait time to hear something back?
