Packet accepted but swearing in delayed?
My wife got a call from a LTC back east last night regarding her first possible station. Our preferences were Bethesda, San Diego and then Portsmouth(in that order). He started out by saying there were no positions in Bethesda or San Diego. We REALLY don't want Portsmouth so when my wife explained she has been a PICU nurse for three years and also has ER experience he said that might change her options. He said he could get us into Guam(anyone on here have experience with being stationed there?). Seems like she will be in the May ODS. He also said he might still be able to get her Bethesda since she is an experienced nurse and not a noobie. He's supposed to get back with us next week.

Navy hopefuls waiting for ODS date/Station
My wife heard back from her recruiter this week and he said her name was on the most recent scrolls. He says she should be swearing in sometime in the next two weeks at the latest. Still no idea on when or where we'll be going, but I guess it's progress.

Navy hopefuls waiting for ODS date/Station
My wife's packet was accepted in late September and supposedly she is in for FY0910. We have her acceptance letter from the Navy and we are also playing the waiting game and haven't heard anything yet about her swearing in or ODS. Annoying...

In the Navy now- heading to NNMC in April! Questions...
When was your packet accepted? My wife's packet was accepted back in late September and she is still waiting to swear in and get her ODS date. Bethesda is our first choice also as my wife has family in NoVa and I have family in NYC. Plus for our son the ice hockey is better in MD than Portsmouth or SD. We toured NNMC in the summer and it was a neat place and the sailors seemed to enjoy working there. They were pretty brutally honest about life in the Navy so I don't think they were dolling it up.

Packet accepted but swearing in delayed?
Well we got her "official" acceptance letter last week from the Dept. of the Navy. The letter actually looks like it was typed...yes typed. Do typewriters still exist? Anyways the recruiter says now that she has the letter the scrolls should be coming along soon and then everything will get going pretty quick.

Packet accepted but swearing in delayed?
Do you have a phone # for the person in St. Louis? I hate to go over her recruiter's head but I would just like to have some independent verification of the delay in the scolls.

Packet accepted but swearing in delayed?
My wife is entering the Navy. How long did you have to wait to be scrolled? It has now been almost two months since we heard her packet was accepted but she can't swear in until the scrolls go through. Her recruiter insists everyone is in the same boat and I find it hard to believe that no one is entering the nursing corps right now.

Packet accepted but swearing in delayed?
We started the process about a year ago. Her packet was supposedly complete back in April. Then it was rejected because a form was missing about her tattoo. Then they rejected it because we didn't include a copy of her RN license. NM does not give hardcopy licenses...you just go to the NM nursing board website and you can pull up the list of registered nurses. We told the recuiter this but her packet was turned back anyways. Finally we heard in mid to late September that her packet was picked up for FY10. Now we are waiting...ever waiting. :icon_roll Is there anyone who is going to a FY10 ODS on this board? When was your packet accepted? When did you swear in?

Packet accepted but swearing in delayed?
No information other than she is in for FY10. No info on where we're going or when we're going...other than the "it might take as long as 4 months" that we heard in October.

Packet accepted but swearing in delayed?
My wife finally had her packet accepted in September for FY10. Her recruiter now is saying that she can't swear in because the scrolls are being delayed by Congress. He says that in might take up to 4 months!!! Can anyone verify that this is correct or is he just blowing smoke. He says that this is not just an issue with my wife but with all new commissions. We are anxious to get the ball rolling as my wife is now 34 and every month delayed is a month longer before she can retire! She is a direct accession PICU nurse who has been nursing at a teaching hospital for about 3 years now. Our choices of station were Bethesda, San Diego and Portsmouth in that order. The recuiter ensures us that her spot is guaranteed for FY10 and the bonus money is already reserved for her spot but I would just like some outside verification. Thanks!!!
